speedz99 145
Me enjoying an ice cold Corona with Snowbeans:I'll have to clarify with JJJ about the judging. I suppose that "humor" could be my personal take on "intangibles". And, for the record, while yours isn't "haha" funny, it's plenty humorous. Great work.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
wow, that is impressive LG. I had no idea you were 5'6'. Also on your effort and originality. I'm also surprised that it snowed enough for that kind of craftsmanship.I thought VB's was really good as well.Heck, they are all better than I could hope to do.

rcgs59 15
Okay, here is my week 2 entry - Snowbeans!Me enjoying an ice cold Corona with Snowbeans:The head is supposed to resemble Beans but it's hard to get a good likeness when your medium is pressing lime rind and Corona caps into compacted snow...Just so you get an idea of my effort, building Snowbeans took about 2 to 3 hours. Note the lovingly sculpted beer belly, the hand which actually holds a bottle without support, and the detail of loose snow on top of the head to give a hair-like texture. Another detail: his height is accurate. Beans is about 6ft 1", whilst I am 5ft 6", so you see Snowbeans is about 7 inches taller than me. On top of that, I literally walked a mile in the snow to buy the Coronas (and a mile back, carrying it). Whether I get a good score or not, this is the first proper snowman I've ever built on my own and I am very proud of him. We don't usually get much snow in Oxford so I grew up thinking tiny snowmen were a big deal. Note to judges: In the original Beans protege thread, JJJ said "Once again, you will be judged in three categories: photo subject, technical expertise, and yes, intangibles." Due to this I didn't think that 'humour' was a part of the judging criteria for this round, thus mine isn't exactly aimed at making people laugh. So uhh, please keep that in mind when scoring Snowbeans.Oh and if I have to pick just one picture to be the official entry, make it the one with me in it.actually that is very very good too, top 2 for sure
LG's Touch 0
Great stuff LG!BTW, love the boots! Finally someone mentions the boots. Thank you Brad, you have no idea how hard it was to find waterproof knee-high boots that fit me. Ended up costing me $200 (thank you student loan). Ron, thanks for complimenting my height. I used to be 5'5.5" and it took a lot of willpower to grow that extra half inch. I believe 5'6" is the perfect height for a lady.
LadyGrey 6
"So anyway, right now....as we speak, there is a snowman statue standing in Oxford built especially for me"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my entry post that Snowbeans is no longer standing. Since I knew he would melt soon anyway and be gone, I decided to destroy him myself after I took the pictures. Here's a . The voice you can hear is my mum who was recording it for me. Never mind.
Randy Reed 0
Okay, here is my week 2 entry - Snowbeans!wow, winner winner chicken dinner!I didn't enter thinking I couldn't photoshop and totally missed that you could do this. Amazing out of the box thinking and effort. I keep cracking up thinking of the smile on beans face when he sees this and realizes that there was a snowman of him built a half a world away, complete with corona. hahaha too awesome. Great job Mojo!
