WOW. thats pretty damn good when you expect a team to win first and only first. how exactly does that constitute "suck" may i ask?

aadams_22 3
It's just one game...take it easy. The next game is against South Africa and despite the close call that Canada had with them I think the USA will have no problem. Besides Canada beating the USA hasn't been the only upset...Korea did beat Japan.
Azreous 0
So how did we beat you at baseball then? Because even the Devil Rays manage to beat the Yankees once in a while.

mrdannyg 274
some clarifications:1 - the Canadian Navy's canoe is red.2 - yes, the US team is not the best team it can field. that is no excuse. American players were under no different circumstances than non-Americans. If the US is missing more good players than others, it is simply a reflection of the lack of national pride. and since for "other" reasons, you have the MVP on your team when he shouldn't be, i don't think you can complain.3 - Al Leiter? gimme a break. there are better players who would've played for the US.4 - the US still gets less than 10x as many medals as Canada in the summer olympics with 10x the population. that's a dumb measure though. we get whooped in the summer O, and do well in Winter. that's how it should be and how it is. i hope the US continues to do well in sports like curling and it catches on (a little).5 - PMJ, I know you're a dodgers fan, but really, russell martin is not the second best player we're missing. he'll be a good one though. the guy we really miss is harden, and i guess dempster. Because even the Devil Rays manage to beat the Yankees once in a while.but would they beat them in a 3-game round robin? doubtful.
Azreous 0
but would they beat them in a 3-game round robin? doubtful. That's pretty much my point.
Azreous 0
The Rays owned the Yankees in 2005. Once in a while was like 11 out of 18.GO CANADAYou're absolutely right. Canada is just like the Devil Rays.By the way, the four seasons before that the Devil Rays were a combined 20-55 against the Yankees. So I guess you've proven my point. They got lucky. jeff_536 3
Considering a great portion of the talent in Major League Baseball comes from the Latin American countries (and now Japan/Korea/etc), it's not too surprising for the US team to lose. Losing to the Candian team (minus Gagne and Russell Martin) is pretty pathetic though.Russell Martin?? WTF? Try Gagne, Harden and Dempster...OP first off...wrong forum...second go F*CK YOURSELFBWHAHAHAHAHAHAyou know whats amazing? the U.S. basketall team "sucks" when it doesn't get gold. WOW. thats pretty damn good when you expect a team to win first and only first. how exactly does that constitute "suck" may i ask?Sixth at the World Championships in Indy...year or two ago...Douhe bag, go **** yourself you ****ing eurotrashBWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA---------------------------------------------------Of course...what would be truly hilarious...is if Mexico and Canada conspired to let Mexico win 1-0 today...Then both would qualify for the next round and the U.S. would be eliminated! Pokergolf 0
Is Ernie Els hitting cleanup for the South Africans? Goosen starting?I think the U.S. will win, but who knows, and frankly (and really, this has nothing to do with the nice win by the Canadians), who cares. I'm going to rant now. This thing, while a nice idea, is a joke. Another one of Bud Selig's genius ideas (see all star winning team getting homefield advantage for the WS for its respective league). Thank god nobody has gotten hurt yet. Imagine the ire of a sox or cards fan if Ortiz or Pujols gets plunked in the wrist. David Wells is right, Selig is an idiot.
kers2 0
OK, as far as I've read the Canadian posters are mostly joking and saying haha whatever... and then the American posters responses are like hateful and pissed off. Who cares? It's all in good fun it's not like we are gonna die from losing to the Canadians. It's all good
