InternetExplorer 2,620
I have like 3 pairs of pants I'm willing to wear to work. I'm wearing a pair I bought on the way down which is not fitting so great anymore.

brvheart 1,768
No, nobody said he was wrong, they/I said that there was no need to be a dick about it to Randy This is correct. There are very very few things that Randy says, thinks, or does that that I agree with. However, I love him, so be nice. Also, I'm probably one of the only people in the thread that has been to an actual psychiatrist, and been officially diagonoised with the d. So Shake is wrong again.
The Ocho 972
How many pairs of work paints does everyone have in the rotation? Right now, i have 4. 30-40lbs or so from now, probably 10 or 11. I need to drop those lbs. i can do 25lbs in one hardcore month and then another 15 or 20 in the 2nd month. I cant cheat though Good luck with all that 5-7. 10 if count suits. If I drop 10 I'd have another 5-6 pairs. I really don't wear all those 7 though, some are back ups for when things are at the dry cleaner.

iZuma 766
I'm not spending the three hours it'll take to go back and re-read my post so what I meant was that for those that have actually experienced real clinical depression, nicks respknse was pretty justified in all its dickishness. while I'm sure randy meant well, and I mean I love ole rando, basically what he said translates to a depressed person's mind as saying not only do you hate yourself, but it's your fault that you hate yourself because you're so lazy and weak. it's a pretty huge slap in the face to a person who wakes up in the morning pissed off that they're still alive. and the reason why people talk about it on here is because you can't talk about it in real life. you can't say that kind of shit to friends. nobody wants to hang out with the crazy depressed person. Ron_Mexico 4,238
Thats why I stopped wearing suits unless necessary. Hated having to constantly dry clean them. Shit gets expensive. I would go for 3 wears on the pants before a clean. 4 if I was feeling particularly cheap, but that was rare. At first, I only did 2 wears with my 3 suits. Mix in some casual Friday khaki's, maybe some dress slacks
iZuma 766
it should be noted though that I am not currently depressed. been talking to one lady and have a date with another next thursday. riding this wave as long as I can. maybe six pairs of pants? with maybe six more that can be used in a pinch. brvheart 1,768
Beans: My cousin is a writer for Autoweek and after spending a week in China driving the new Bentley around, he ran into a new C7 on the road yesterday. I suppose you already own one though. http://www.autoweek....RNEWS/130529913 Also: Today my oven heating element snapped when the wife was baking, causing a minor family collapse, mixed with firemen and cops. It looks like this: I've changed them before with no issues. But apparently the fireman on site said that we would need a new oven. That's crazy though, right? I can just replace the element for like $20. Any problems you foresee? Electricity frightens me.
InternetExplorer 2,620
I was clinically d'd in late teens/early 20s. probably would have been diagnosed with it after college if I had seen anyone about it. probably still got it now, maybe not. I think the normal person has all kinds of bias built in about their ability, intellect, whatever else. it's a blessing and a curse that I am brutally honest with myself about everything. Roll the Bones 74
LOL. JEEBUS Hey Nick when your grandpa tells you to sit up straight in your chair and dress a little nice do you go off on him too? HEY GRAMPS, I'M ****ING DEPRESSED, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!! Shut the **** up GRANDPAAA, you aren't a ****ING PSYCHIATRIST!! Brother..... First off, if zuma, Napa, Strat or anyone else is seriously depressed and in need of medical care I would be the first to encourage that help. Obviously I don't know enough to make that determination, but given my limited knowledge they aren't clinical, can't get out of bed, suicidal depressed. So I was kindly trying to be funny, which admittedly I am not, and still offer some advice, which is what us old folk occasionally do. Son. And as far as that goes, I will stand by my advice. Having goals, exercise and diet can have an amazing effect on your state of consciousness. Being aware of your consciousness and understanding what is happening can be a very valuable tool. That simple understanding allowed me to quit drinking cold turkey a couple years ago, take up running, fix my diet, and become a much more involved happier person. People close to me remark about the dramatic improvement. None of that is going to overcome a neurophysialogical issue. None of that is going to overcome a deep seeded pyschological issue. Knowing these guys I never would have have implied anything else if I thought that was the case. These guys are very intelligent successful and funny people, well, aside from Shake. Most cognitive behavioural therapy unlike psychotherapy, doesn't deal with the past and deals with your present and future outlook which is what I would subscribe too and has shown to be more effective. So NIck, you can take my terrible advice and shove it up your ass. Sir. And I sincerely hope that it doesn't depress you that you are an idiot for over-reacting. Now that that's over...... Just got back from a funeral. One of my brother's best friends died of liver failure at 53 from drinking himself to death. Dude was a high school basketball star, and as he often reminded us when he was in a drunken' stupor, "voted best dressed in high school mother ****ers" I ran into a bunch of old friends at hte funeral and we were telling Keith stories. One guy that I hadn't seen in what, 35 years (?) made a funny comment. He complimented me for the time we had a party at my house back in high school and Keith stole my girlfriend Ginger and banged her in his car. He said I admired how you kept your cool and didn't go off or start or fight or anything. Said he always thought I was pretty cool cat. I was like, "ummm, that's because she wasn't my girlfriend and I banged her first". Then another guy standing there said, "yeah, it was my girlfriend and I was at work that night". Ooops!

The Ocho 972
FWIW, in talking at length with VB on the depression subject in the past, behavior modification works something like 3X more effective than meds. I'll screw up the details if I try and relate what he told, but a lot of it has to do with the severity of the depression and the cause. Meds a lot of time cover up the problem and are abused or aren't the correct medication. Psychiatrists are known as walking prescription pads. Also , a lot of time primary care doctors are the ones writing prescriptions and they will just keep writing the same thing for everyone, if that doesn't work they move on to drug 2, and so on and so on. ShakeZuma 586
I want to make an "ocho8s" joke but I'm not sure if that's what you intended with your post originally or if you really do have them mixed up so I'll just not make that joke and instead just post that I was going to make that joke. and for anyone worried about me getting too far away from my severe self loathing keep in mind that I haven't actually had sex with any of these women.
