Tiltinagain 977
manager of the year right there. I cannot imagine actually seeing something like that go down at my job. is this the guy to which you gave the confidence talk? could maybe have a follow-up discussion about overconfidence. I loved Texas when I visited some number of years ago. great weather, decent enough culture. the mexicans are a worry. Yes. He's one of those people that everybody thinks is an arrogant ego-maniac but really it's a defense mechanism because he's extremely sensitive to any perceived slight against him. Even basic feedback I give him will be met with a defensive attack. Never once has admitted to being wrong about anything etc.... Heh, I live in L.A. I can't be more of minority in Texas than I am here. Where do we stand on people ripping off other people's jokes and then posting them on Facebook as their own jokes? I have a friend that does it all the time. Ill see something on reddit and then hours later he'll have made it his status. Today he did it with a deadspin article. Really want to post a link to the article and say something like "whoa, I think drew maggory ripped you off". I'll post jokes from twitter etc... on facebook but I always lead with "Found this on twitter....". Give credit where it's due. Heh. I always assume every joke is stolen. Except for loogie's stuff. I assume that's all original. Because of the lack of humor?

InternetExplorer 2,620
the guy who can't ever admit he's wrong is your best manager? what the actual ****? how's it possible to function without ever considering the possibility of you being wrong?
InternetExplorer 2,620
I don't consciously steal other people's stuff but I'm sure I do it sometimes. everything I post here is pretty original. my distinctive strat style is usually pretty apparent. you know, hilarious, offbeat, confusing. Ron_Mexico 4,238
I used to post movie lines that I found funny, but that was just to be random and see if my friends would pick up on it and run with it. I would never claim a joke as mine that wasnt
Roll the Bones 74
Is it wrong that I'm already planning and practicing drafting for my NFL fantasy team this fall?

Even basic feedback I give him will be met with a defensive attack. Never once has admitted to being wrong about anything etc.... Well, it makes perfect sense then, that you had him lined up for a big promotion...
Napa Lite 3,281
Hell I'm already starting one draft. It's the rookie draft for a dynasty league, but still. How's that NC RB going to go for your bungles randy?
Roll the Bones 74
Hell I'm already starting one draft. It's the rookie draft for a dynasty league, but still. How's that NC RB going to go for your bungles randy? I would draft him as a 3rd RB. MJD was slowly worked in as well his first 2 seasons and Gio is similar. He'll get 10-15 touches a game, and in a PPR league he'll be more value as I suspect they will use him more catching passes out of the backfield like Sproles. The addition of him and Eifert really add some much needed firepower to the offense though. I was pimping Eifert a month before the draft and doing cartwheels when we actually got him. He and Gio can both take a ton of pressure off AJ Green as well. I also think it adds some value to Dalton as a sleeper late round 2nd QB that can get 30 TD's and be productive in the right spots. Speaking of MJD I think he is a sleeper this season as well, and if youcan nab him in the 2nd round a steal. I think he comes back big time.

Roll the Bones 74
Her and her g/f used to hang out with me and friends all the time and party. They were hilarious. Candy and Sandy. Both kind of short and cute and looked like sisters. Candy posted it and is still funny as hell all these years later. Oh hell, I'll tell a story.... I ran a little restaurant at a motel when I was a senior in high school. Well, I was the night cook, waiter, dishwasher, bouncer, etc.. Part of the bonus was having free beer and a master key giving me a motel room to use as I pleased. I can remember one time there was about 6 of us hanging out in the room trippin' on acid and we had sperm cell races. It was basiclly a relay race where you twirled a person up in a blanket and pushed them in the right direction and they had to crawl like a worm (or sperm cell) over both beds and back to the start, repeat, until your team finished. You could go all sperm cell and attack your opponent trying to prevent them from "finishing" as well. I mean seriously, not only would they participate, I think they invented the game. They were so awesome. ---- Another time we were all at a friends house trippin' and a girl that rarely partied with us and was an inexperienced "tripper" was kind of freakin' out a bit. Candy and Sandy went into action and convinced her we were in the Wizard of Oz. Candy was Dorothy. I was the Tin Man. George was the Lion and she was........ The tree. rofl... They made her stand in the corner and hold her arms up like a tree. The chick stood there forever holding her arms up with a big goofy grin on her face. I was literally in pain from laughing so hard. ---- Speedz would love her as well. She works at the SPCA and is constantly pimping people to adopt dogs.

ShakeZuma 586
so... it doesn't look like I'm getting laid off after all. I am moving to a different position though, back to my old pm type role actually. they basically told me that shit's getting ready to go down, budgets are being cut, and therefore, in not so many words, so are jobs. when they do that they talk about the people that they want to keep, the people they can lose altogether, and the people they want to keep but they can move around to a better budget. I was in the last category. which is nice. because at this point I figured I was in the middle since I absolutely suck at my current job. best part is I stay at the same salary but now go back to being able to get overtime, so it's kind of like a raise. I mean I still make shitty money but it's better, and definitely better than none. plus I get to get away from my current shitty boss and all my current shitty teammates. boy are they shitty. ShakeZuma 586
oh and due to my recent obsession with cutting wood I just bought a tree identification guide and I just found out that I have two maple trees in my yard meaning I've been a canadian this entire time :(

NickCave 194
Anyone here ever read Hyperbole and a Half? One of my favorite things on the internet. One of the few things that consistently gets me to laugh out loud, like a crazy person, when I'm all alone. I mention it because her two most recent stories, "Adventures in Depression" and "Depression Part Two," are incredible on a number of levels, the first of which is that, while slightly less "ha ha ha!" funny than most of her previous and generally silly stuff, they are both incredibly funny, and the second of which is, the essays are, coming from, as someone who spent a lot of time as a walking "BEFORE" picture from a Prozac advertisement, a man who understands intimately the problems the writer has dealt with, perfect encapsulations of Depression, especially the difficulty expressing a depressive episode to someone who has never experienced it. I highly recommend reading both of the above entries, though it might make sense to start with some of her greatest hits, which are listed on a sidebar under the BEST OF sign
Whiskers 683
I've read every single entry of Hyperbole and a Half. Except these two recent ones.
