I don't disagree that I had this thought as well, but my set came with 2 extra batteries, and the flashlight sits on a battery and becomes quite sturdy. It's nice to be able to just set it somewhere and adjust the light without having to fumble around with a regular flashlight. Link to post Share on other sites

That being said As usual I come along and also disagree with them as well. Ive witnessed two cordless miter/chop saws in my life. The last one I spied, pretty sure it was a kita. Although it was being used in the convention center during a build out for a show, so it could have been a prototype or something The first one was a doozy. At the time, I was around twenty something and plumbing a four story near mansion. The architect found someone from oregon that hand laminated staircase. Did the most awesome work Ive ever witnessed. Anyway, one evening after I conned a crane operator into lifting a cast iron tub to the top floor I heard the distinct sound of a two stroke engine running inside the house. Think weedeater Guy had a gas powered sawzall and miter box. Damdest things you ever saw. I cant remember who made the things but they were store bought somewhere. I think Montana. Anyway, the sawzall was nothing more than a chainsaw with a sawzall front on it. Pretty impressive though. The chop saw was belt driven similar to a drill press. You could change the speed of the blade by changing the belts. Said it was the best way to cut certain woods and stuff All I know for a fact is, I liked it when he fired them up cause it gave me a good excuse to leave... and by the end of the project I was mentioned in a magazine article. Not for plumbing the house, but for my.....jokingly offering to build a giant set of windchimes out of one to three inch copper to hang from the upstairs balcony. I spent many beers tuning each one to the "proper" note by cutting and changing the "clacker" In the end, the guy moved and never heard from him again. The chimes were decommissioned after neighbors a mile away threatened a lynch mob ...and I got my real name in a magazine as the designer/builder of a wicked set of chimes. I just looked up the specs on the 12" dewalt and it's 57lbs. So im dyslexic. My shop is about 400 feet from my house. So carrying that thing sucks, or putting it on a truck or trailer to drive it up is a pain and seems like over kill. Hell I eve put in a wheel barrow before. The stand is awsome. Moves easy. Flips up in a second and it has extender arms for balance which is great when you are cutting a 16" peice of trim or baseboard. Link to post Share on other sites
