There are certainly a lot of questions in this case - it is pretty much a Rorschach test people are seeing what they want to see. But by "incredibly convenient" are you thinking that Zimmerman was just out looking for an excuse to murder a random kid in cold blood? I mean he'd also have to be pretty lucky to get an EMT that is willing to perjure himself to give a cover story of his injuries. I guess I just think it is more likely that a kid with an attitude reacted in an aggressive way to a guy with "Lead Balls".

No, I think he shot him by accident, panicked and made up a story. He could have injuries and still be lying through his teeth about who started the altercation. It's also possible the EMT just embellished a little bit.I don't agree that people are seeing what they want to see. Pretty much everyone on here but you think the police obviously should have arrested this guy by now. There may be varying degrees in that opinion but it's uniform outside of you.

If Zimmerman is guilty then by all means destroy him to the fullest extent of the law. EZ game and no one would argue otherwise.As a nation of laws, and as much as it sucks for some, that means you may have to wait for a bit for an alleged perp to get a day in court.To others, especially in this case, it seemed like those the laws apparently meant nothing. Innocent until proven guilty, no? There you go making assumptions and generally making shit up againFWIW, I think that the Cops did the right thing by taking him into custody at first and by letting him go at that point in time. There clearly wasn't enough to charge him then. I do not think the police did a good job of the initial investigation. Based on the details that have emerged over the past week or two, I think he needs to be charged and tried. My gut feeling is that he shot the kid thinking he was justified because of the kid's aggression. Based on what I've seen I'd say it isn't a justified case of Self Defense. If only because I think using Lethal Force for Self Defense needs to be more clear than this. But I'll also go on the record and predict that he is not convicted.

You are missing the point. He was profiling the kid as a threat based on personal observation. You only have to listen to the tape. Do people do this? Do people have kneejerk reactions to stereotypes? Could they be correct? Of course.But we can't entrust random people with guns to patrol the neighborhood shooting people who have no training in how to deal with such things. Training assures that we aren't making kneejerk reactions, forcing people to slow down and use cognition and safe measures to ensure innocent people don't get killed.
