can't you go five minutes without putting black people down?

Jeff Stotts ‏@RotowireATC Hear me out. Mavs sign Seth Curry, Jason Thompson, & Gerald Green. Then roll out a lineup of Curry, Thompson, Green, Barnes, & Bogut.

have to love JR Smith   J.R. Smith apparently drives a $450,000 armored truck around New York City now

ANOTHER:lakers get: steve nash, grant hill, 1st round pick 2013 / suns get: pau gasol, darius morris, 2nd round pick 2013
1. Atlanta isn't going to give up J-smooth for Pau2. No trade with the Spurs make sense3. This Suns scenario might make sense for the Lakers if they can get a little more (ironically, I'm thinking Shannon Brown) and that would be a good "final run" cast but head them into Celtics-old reeaaaly fast. Still, I don't think the Suns would do it with their monster hard on for Nash.Lakers problem isn't Kobe, Bynum or Gasol. They have absolutely no depth and to trade an allstar like Pau for a bunch of role players make no sense. The fact, they put themselves into this insane situation (re: the Odom dump) is just terrible GM work.

Oh, Martell Webster, you so crazy. Did you guys see that article from Woj about Lebron interested in going back to Cleveland? I assumed this was all just people making shit up, but this is an actual thing? The gist of it is that Lebron always wants to be recruited/coveted, so there will probably be another big free agency hubbub again in the summer of '14, but "his people" actually had talks with Cleveland management about the possibility. It just seems so insane to me. But I guess if your thing is that you want to be loved by everyone, it might make a little sense that the people who hate you the most are the ones you want to win over.By the way, latest Laker rumor has them acquiring Beasley for draft picks. *sigh*

That was an enjoyable all-star game, right?
I thought it was.I know the common reply to the Lebron thing is, "It's just an all-star game" and I can appreciate that, but, you know...still. He had the ball one-on-one against Kobe with time running out down by two and Kobe talking trash to him. It has to say something when he tries a ridiculous cross-court baseball pass past three guys. It has to say something about his mentality. The common defense for Lebron passing up the big shot at the end of games and making the extra pass is that it's the smart basketball play. The smart basketball play there would've been to take Kobe and get a shot or create something. I love Lebron because he's an amazing basketball player. He's clearly the best player on the court. But since he's come to the Heat, something is going on with him late in games.I heard someone offer an idea for the slam dunk contest. Make it this freelancing free-for-all. Put four guys out there and just let them go one after another trying to one up each other. No set order, just go when you're ready. No more props or story-telling. Just dunks. The winner is the guy who has the best set. The biggest downside to this format is that there wouldn't be much time for slow-motion replays, which is really when you can appreciate the athleticism. But maybe you can do a split-screen if somebody else is attempting a dunk while you're showing a replay. Something needs to happen because ugh.Oh, and instead of having four NBA guys, maybe have one NBA guy, one D-League guy, one And1 guy, etc.

Agree with almost everything you said Vu. Not sure about the dunk contest thingy though.I thought the All Star game was great. I wish that the players would bet on the game. Everyone puts up like 500K each. Now that would make for an interesting game. Imagine how hard these guys would play. Obviously the league could not sponsor or even condone something like this, but it would be pretty bad ass.

They could probably come up with a sponsor to put up a significant amount of money if they really wanted to do that and the winning team gets all the money. It'll never happen of course.
