No idea what to do here. I'm not sure I want to get it in because we are deep but his 4 bet his nuts. Button is 12/10 with a 2% 3 bet over 172 hands. His button stats are 21/14 over 14 hands and has 3bet 1/11 times on the button. feral_cow_icon.gifDont have a cow, heres your converted handFull Tilt No-Limit Hold'em $0.25/$0.50 - 9 playersSB: $67.55 BB: $77.55 (Hero)UTG: $61.70 UTG+1: $114.30 MP: $40.50 MP2: $68.90 HJ: $10.70 CO: $93.40 Button: $76.50 Preflop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with :club::ts (9 players)3 folds, MP2 raises to $1.50, HJ folds, CO calls $1.50, Button calls $1.50, SB folds, Hero raises to $8.50, 2 folds, Button raises to $19,If he called there I would have put him on an AK or JJ type hand but 4 betting just confused the hell out of me.

I remember when this thread was all about how bad KJ was at 3betting

He's probably not flatting KJ's raise otf if he had a2. Besides, A2 is such a small portion of his range here, we are never ever ever ever ever ever ever folding the turn. People are stupid, they do

It's rush so it's really hard to say what he knows about me. I have him tagged as a 4 tabler for whatever that is worth and up 28.42 bb/100 over the limited sample.

I went to the casino to play some 200nl last night. The players were fairly loose and you could tell they followed poker to a certain degree. They didn't bet ridiculously low or high amounts, nor were they playing every single hands they got. Though, probably influenced from your typical high-octane poker shows, they loved to play all sort of ''potential'' hands, ranging from low suited to double gappers and such. In fact, my biggest pot was when i doubled with AK suited, after raising a straddle followed by 4 limps. I had 150 in front of me raised to 26, which was way too high. But oddly enough, only the blinds and 1 limper folded. The flop was A-3-6 with 2 clubs. I betted what was probably about half the pot, or possibly a tad less. All of them folded except 1 who shoved. I called and was facing j-7 suited for the flush draw.. my hand held. 1. I know many noticed my tight play before that hand, which they probably threw out of proportion due to their own looseness. 2. I know they value their trickeries and wild plays over a solid game, which they also probably throw out of proportion. The AK hand is a good example, but not the only instance i noticed.Overall, i wasn't satisfy of my session. My focus wasn't constant and i made a few plays out of nowhere without giving it much thoughts. Most importantly, i didn't have much of a game plan, if at all. Analyzing an undergoing hand is also a pain; i find myself considering many possible holdings one could have, but i'm uncapable of giving those any weights. Every action he has taken can mean something, or the total opposite so really i'm not going anywhere. In other words, i have a hard time coming to any conclusions regardless of how many details i got. I therefor find myself playing fairly tight-weak, against players who are bluffing and raising a lot. Aside from a few hands, i found i generally playing better after i won the AK hand. Or at least, i was more comfortable with placing chips in the middle.Any words of wisdom?

Also.. I hate to be a dick... but I SERIOUSLY need an explanation for that turn fold KJ. You don't even need implied odds and can't be drawing dead THAT often.Even if you play one bet poker on the river it's still profitable to draw

Any words of wisdom?
If you are playing too tight, someone will mention it to you live. So don't worry until they do. Only start playing looser when they are saying you are tight AND start folding. Who cares what they say to you if they are still calling you.

It's tough to play live donks because they can be so erratic. So you might want to consider less hand reading and just playing your hands straight up for value. I've had some luck thinking about what live players WANT to be doing in a spot, not how they should or would've played a hand a certain way. You can't analyze something logically if there's no logic to it. They don't know basically anything about poker but they know to do certain things like to prey on weakness. I've just played in 50nl/25nl homegames but from what I've heard about 1/2 live the players are similar. Like in this one hand I lost against a station fish: I had like J8 otb and he flatted from the BB. Everyone else folded a total miracle. I flopped top pair, dry board, and bet on flop and turn. The river was an ace. I waffled on betting because he could've had an ace, calling down, but I could also still get paid off by a worse pair, so I bet like 1/2 pot. He check/raised me. I folded and he showed K4s. Made no sense; no pair, no draw, out of position, not taking the initiative to bluff, just calling down because he had a king? But on the river he was able to deduce that I probably didn't have the ace, because I was hesitant about betting, so he raised me off my hand. Had I known he could pull that move, I would've had to think about it like this, "I bet weak, looked weak, and there's a scare card; he can bluff here." Doesn't matter if he can't get to the river with a bluff. So I guess all I'm saying is don't beat yourself up because you can't "read" their hands. Play your hands straight-up for value, call if you have a good hand, and try and bluff the tighter players. Rather than stress about putting fish on ranges, try and see how they approach poker, see what hands they're felting, and what they raise with, how they feel about building a pot, and if they try to bully people. That will all help you when it comes to catching bluffs. You were surprised that you had been called by so many people w/AK; don't be, no one likes to fold preflop. Raise your good hands up big, catch a good flop, and roll with it. Like there's a guy calling $26 pf with J7s. Soooooooooo bad. First time I played live I was totally shocked. Action routinely went limp x5, minraise, call x everyone. At one 50nl home game we had 3 limpers, a raise, and I 3-bet in the next seat to $15 w/JJ. 3 players called the 3-bet! (because I was not on Full Tilt, I flopped top set and held against the backdoor straight draw that called me all-in)

Sometimes I wonder how my win rate would be affected if I...1. Just let my opponent have it when he raises me on a dry board and I only have TP.2. Never called a 3bet 100bbs deep OOP unless villain has an absurdly high 3bet stat.3. Made a plan to bet/fold a river, and actually STUCK WITH THE PLAN.4. Didn't fire that third barrel when villain's range is obviously "I haz pair and no can foldz"

I assume that player was a fish. That being the case, a lot of times, it's not going to matter how well the board runs out when you're trying to bluff them.
you're right. I'm over-betting the river next time :club:

vs an relatively unknown fishy type (60/20) Thoughts? We're getting 1.8-1 so we need 35% equity. You could make it smaller. It would induce more calls though but most seem to be fit and fold in 4b pots anyway so free(ish) money.
utg+1 is a reg, 15/12/1.8 75% fold to 3b and 0/1 4b over 120 hands.CO is 60/7/1.5 over 90 hands. folded to 1/1 3bets so farI'd like to get the CO HU, so thoughts on sizing... utg+1 is a reg/nit... kinda interesting spotferal_cow_icon.gifYour converted hand, now with more cowbell.Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em $0.10/$0.25 - 6 playersUTG: $25.35 UTG+1: $42.88 CO: $36.00 Button: $25.00 (Hero)SB: $12.34 BB: $27.11 Preflop: ($0.35) Hero is Button with KK (6 players)[/color]UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to $1, CO calls $1, Hero raises to $3.50,
I like it. No real way you can screw up the sizing in this spot since you have a great hand and position. bigger because you think fish will call anyway, smaller because you want to keep the fish in. Its all good.

Another good fold. I actually miss read this hand at first and thought you were the guy who raised pre and barrelled till river and wanted to know if you could value bet. I was at first unsure but breaking your hand down, villain can't have better then trips here but J9 is not a certainty to call and there should be less combos then AJ because of flop. If he is really good then he knows what I typed above. However hands don't randomly lead into the PFR on this flop so they have to have some equity to begin with.
