strategy 4
Very sexy freeleech on what right now. More good for the site than anything.yeah. I've had a bunch of transcoded EPs/live albums up for almost a year now, about half of it still has one seeder/zero snatches. I don't expect that to change, but at least now I can try to convince people to download and seed it as a favor?
timwakefield 69
yeah. timwakefield 69
Re: 1 seeder freeleech, one thing I've done on a few of my freeleeches that nobody's grabbing is see if there's another format that's missing, and add it in order to bump it to the front page. Then the freeleech version of it will have 5-10 immediate snatchers. For example: http://what.cd/torrents.php?id=816935It works the same obviously it's one of your uploads or if you just happen to be the only seeder on it (as was the case with me in the example). strategy 4
I brought it up mostly because it looks like I'd slip out of my status if I suddenly lost my server+backup. I think it took me like six hours to figure out what they wanted, then transcode 54 different albums or whatever. I don't know, there are now 3 or 4 more copies that wouldn't be around if not for the freeleech, so I'm happy.
LongLiveYorke 38
Is it good or bad that I don't understand any of this "free leech" or quota or "What CD" stuff? It's as if you guys are speaking a different language.

LongLiveYorke 38
I went to New York last week and decided to catch up on a lot of music that I was too busy to listen to over the summer. I've been listening to the following over the past week or so:Sufjan Stevens - Age of AdzBelle and Sebastian - Write about LoveBest Coast - Crazy For YouWild Nothing - GeminiWavves - King of the BeachDeerhunger - Halcyon DigestAmntony and the Johnsons - SwanlightsAriel Pink's Haunted Grafiti - Before TodayThey're all pretty good. The Sufjan and Deerhunter albums are quite excellent, but you already knew that.Yorke, AWAY!
ShakeZuma 586
yeah the new sufjan is still pretty spectacular in my eyes. I didn't like wavves, though I really tried. didn't listen to deerhunter but I can safely assume I wouldn't like it.favorite album of the year is definitely the suburbs, followed closely by age of adz. LongLiveYorke 38
didn't listen to deerhunter but I can safely assume I wouldn't like it.This is the part of this thread where Wang suggests you listen to the song, "Nothing Ever Happened."I would second that request by suggesting you listen to the brilliant song, "Desire Lines," which is really too good for words (just give it some time and you'll agree, let it hit its groove). Just a little bit sped up. Also though I'm not sure precisely what you're asking. Are you asking where Dilla got the vocal sample that's something like, 'Oooooh this is sweeter than love?' If that is your question, I think I sadly don't have an answer, although I might be wrong and might actually have it or have the answer somewhere.Special bonus: Busta Rhymes on the same beat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvUKxlmOKoc
timwakefield 69
As long as we're talking Dilla samples, this is one of the more exciting: (if you hang in til 0:45 you'll catch the 2nd part that he used too)=Raekwon
timwakefield 69
I still need to figure out how to reseed all my stuff since wiping my pc though. Sf annoying.By 'wiping your pc' you mean that you still have all the files on an external drive or something? Not sure which program you're using, but you probably have to do each torrent individually. You can either find the old torrent files still saved somewhere on your computer, or perhaps an easier method is to just go to your "snatched" list and re-download whichever torrent files you're trying to reseed. Then you just need to open the torrent file, probably tell it not to start automatically, and more importantly tell it where you're now keeping those files and direct it to download there. Then, since you told it not to start automatically, tell it to 'force re-check,' and it should find 100% and then you just hit start and it's seeding. Sometimes it'll only find like 99% (if you changed some tags) but then just hit play and it'll grab the last 1% and then seed. And also sometimes it'll give you 0% and you just have to remove it cuz it ain't working. The main point though is that you should be able to both move and re-name a folder, and then easily continue seeding it. This is all for utorrent, dunno how to do it in other programs. My roommate has a mac and he says he can't figure out how to do it. He can tell the torrent where to download but once it's downloaded he can't move it. On a pc though you simply hit Stop, then right-click on it and go to Advanced -> Set Download Location. On a mac I guess you could remove the torrent and then re-open it and change its location. Not sure how easily that'd work.
