You keep using the "what other people think" reasoning when, in fact, a bet is between two people and what they think.
nope..odds are set based on certain conditions...If I think Montreal may miss the playoffs, i will bet it at true value...Doesnt make sense to bet it at even money...In turn I may think that the Leafs will make the playoffs, but since 99% of the free world along with the rest of the galaxy believes they are a bottom 3 team, I will only bet it if i get good odds.

The bolded part is evidently now public. I was not aware. An excerpt from the press conference during the donation pledge....   At Wednesday’s announcement, P.K. was filled with emotion as he talked

This is not the Leafs thread...we don't celebrate every little accomplishment.

Doesn't really matter though. If he creates 5 goals and costs his team 4 goals, he is still more valuable than a super shut down defenseman who never gives up a goal but who never creates a goal for e

But if you think 10-1 on Montreal missing the playoffs is true value why would you need 20-1 just because that's what others think?

from sportswagers.ca...our friend Brian..TORONTO +1.16 over Montreal PINNACLECall it an aberration, a fluke or anything else but one couldn’t help but be impressed with the Leafs opening day win over the mighty Red Wings. For the first time in eons the Leafs finally have a great coach combined with a great goaltender and a whole lot of enthusiasm. The Maple Leafs absolutely looked like they belonged on the same ice as the champs and after that big win the Leafs have to be feeling pretty good and very excited to be stepping on the ice tonight. Meanwhile, the Habs looked very ordinary last night in a 2-1 OT loss at Buffalo. They were outplayed and out-shot and one loss can very easily turn into two or more to open the year. Based solely on the first game of the year by both these clubs, one has to believe the Leafs have a great shot of opening 2-0 in front of what should be a frenzied crowd to open the first Saturday of the year in Toronto. The Leafs stuck to Wilson’s system in Detroit and they won’t sway from it tonight, meaning the Habs, who looked frustrated last night could be twice as frustrated playing against the trap. Play: Toronto +1.16 (Risking 2 units).

A 3-game road trip to open the season and we come away with 5 out of 6 points...I'm very happy with that. Let's hope they can stay focused and put up a good fight against Boston.

I really liked Gorges work out there tonight, very effective on the PK. Sergei is havign a great start to the season, our third line will be so strong when Higgins comes back. Looks like Hamrlik will be more offensive this year, already has 2 goals and seems to pinching more.Wednesday night will fun, I love watching the players introductions.

To all the Montreal lovers:I am planning a weekend in Montreal when the Leafs are there...We are going to visit our goddaughters and we figured we make a weekend out of it with the Leafs in town...The earliest date the Leafs play in Montreal is February 7...So how hard is it to get two tickets for this game..Its probably already sold out..I dont want to spend a crazy amount, but in the $100 range would be ok...I dont mind sitting high up....I will be decked out in Maple Leafs blue, screaming and yelling and having lots of clean fun hopefully...If anyone has any connections or ways of getting tickets other than the usual sources, I appreciate it...I am planning to go with just my friend but if the price is right we may all go, the wives and my son...PSGO BRUINS
