Casey Rice who is a good joe, as well as M. Piggy Rice who is a dog. They assisted in the process very ably and sometimes bit our feet, and once played some extra guitar on the record. This all happened in Chicago, where Brad and Leroy and other people lived in the top of a furniture store. We also lived there briefly and it was nice. After we came home, M. Bradley came out from his city and we all finished the project in a place called 'Bad Animals' which reminded me of a luxury hotel to which somebody just happened to add several large music studios for atmosphere. There we met Adam Kasper and he is great. He knew how everything worked at 'Bad Animals' and that was a big help because none of the rest of us did, except for Brad of course who is quite familiar with all that sort of thing..."The first attempt was pretty impressive, considering... 7s7c 0 Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 I picked up the latest SM & Jicks album and like the ones before it....it has one really good song on it and the rest of it is SM playing guitar and not the good kind like the end part of "Fin" by pavement (which IMO is the best/most creative/most stirring guitar solo ever from whatever genre you wish to put Pavement in), but like the sprawling neverending stuff he's been doing lately and without the catchy chorus and quirky lyrics...now they feel forced quirky which annoys me. I decided to pick up my Jazzmaster and write songs and steal time with my buddy's recording devices lately because I miss when SM was good. I'm making another Pavement record by myself....eff-it....and using the old SM tunings like DADABE (Gold Soundz/Rattled/Summer Babe, Grounded, etc) and CGDGBE(or B) (Desert, Cut Hair, Greenlander, etc) Good luck to me. I figure if S&E was sort of a Fall cover record...then what the hell...I'll rip off S&E...I've just got to find more writing time. Link to post Share on other sites

I've been listening to a lot of mainstream Southern hip-hop, and even some radio, and say what you want about it, but it's ridiculously fun.DJ Toomp is the nuts, and what little I've heard produced by Mannie Fresh was pretty cool.And this video I feel depicts my now-desired lifestyle. Now I can play it in my sleep. What a waste he's become since after Brighten the Corners.I gave up on Sonic Youth after 1995. I should have done the same with Malkmus (+2 years or so).
