iggymcfly 0
There are a lot of borderline spots, say if you're in the hijack with QQ87 or something where it doesn't really matter what you do. If bdc would just follow this rule, he'd be fine though:-Any hand that's worth playing from UTG (in 6-max) should be raised from the CO or the Button unless the pot is raised already.I think if you follow that rule, it's almost impossible for your PFR not to reach at least 10. And I don't think it could ever hurt your game compared to playing all passive preflop.
bdc30 0
-Any hand that's worth playing from UTG (in 6-max) should be raised from the CO or the Button unless the pot is raised already. Can we elaborate on this as a group? What hands should I be playing from UTG? I'm not playing many and I'm limping very few. If I'm doing anything from UTG or UTG+1, I'm raising it most often. Should I be limping hands there? I think where I limp most is from button/cutoff when there are already ~2 limpers and I have a good multiway hand, OR a hand that I can get rid of easily with position, such as TT45, A578 single suited, stuff like that, where I wouldn't play it from UTG, and I'm not raising it in to 4 players. Is this correct?
simo_8ball 1
I think where I limp most is from button/cutoff when there are already ~2 limpers and I have a good multiway handWhat do you mean by good multiway hands? Things like JJT9ss, all the mid/high wrap hands, KQ89ds, etc. should be a raise there every time.I'll look in my database for some examples.

bdc30 0
By multi-way I meant hands like QQxx, JJxx, two pair hands, etc, where I could pop top set against a couple of limpers and be hidden against their middle sets, etc. (just as an example)

simo_8ball 1
You don't need to be as aggro as that, but you should definitely be playing a good number of those like I was preflop.Just look at how many of those hands get checked to me on the flop (something like 75% of them). I can decide whether to bet or to check. I get the power in the hand. I have control.(I didn't select these hands for positive or negative outcome - they were just the first ones I found in the db having raised preflop in LP)

simo_8ball 1
Wow, thanks Simo, I wasn't expecting that volume of information. Will have to dissect when I'm home from work.PokerEV makes it pretty simple to filter them all out.One thing that I've always considered when playing, is that I should be the kind of player I have trouble playing against. I think it's a concept that not many people really think about.Playing raised pots out of position without the betting lead is hell, so I try to make other people play them. Most gaming sites/program performance are very dependant on a low ping rate, and if it is too high, you can get disconnected from these systems.I collaborated with our Customer Solutions Team, who have made adjustments to your line to reduce the ping rate. bdc30 0
Quick session today, only put in about 350 hands. Work getting in the way of poker, again...Nothing major as far as hands or stats, I was about 24/7/2.5 today. The one thing I do like is that the winnings and showdown winnings lines are closer together, and there are a few spots in there where it looks like I won decent sized pots without showdown, which as I'm sure Simo knows, is unlike the "old" me....lol

iggymcfly 0
If it holds, this will be my first five-figure month since January. I guess it's easy to never tilt when you're running good, but I really feel like I've turned a corner and am on the path to a life of hookers and blow from here on out. This is about 60% at $0.5/$1 and 40% at $1/$2 by the way.
Acid_Knight 2
So, I plan to join the ranks of the FCP PLO players soon. I have been playing a little bit (recognized Iggy's SN at the tables but didn't realize it was from here) and I'm gonna probably start posting some PLO hands the more I play. I feel that I'm a marginal player right now, but that I am a small winner becuase a lot of the competition I've been playing at 1/2 is so weak. We'll see how things go from here on out since I'll be playing a mix of PLO and NLHE on Stars and FT.Any PLO Book Recommondations?I have Rolf Slotboom's book and I've read a bunch of other random things and a lot of forum stuff, but I'm looking for any and all advice.Thanks. iggymcfly 0
There's not really much out there in terms of good PLO books. There's some good advice in the Omaha forum on 2+2 (it's a little higher volume than this one), but a lot of it you just have to pick up yourself intuitively. The best simple one sentence advice I could give is just to be aggressive. There are a lot of break-even players out there that could be winning players or small winners that could be big winners if they'd bet and raise a little more and check and call a little less.
