Long heads up battle with a bunch of swings, this guy is better than me, I decide to go with it. Need critique on entire hand. Converter isn't working for me, if a mod could edit this with converted hand, or if anyone else posts the converted hand I will edit myself.PokerStars Game #11550317664: Tournament #58602476, $1.00+$0.10 Triple Draw 2-7 Lowball Limit - Level VIII (400/800) - 2007/08/18 - 05:04:58 (ET)Table '58602476 1' 6-max Seat #4 is the buttonSeat 1: hh123 (4020 in chips) Seat 4: danny purse (4980 in chips) danny purse: posts small blind 200hh123: posts big blind 400*** DEALING HANDS ***Dealt to danny purse [7s Td 6d Ah 3s]danny purse: raises 400 to 800hh123: raises 400 to 1200danny purse: raises 400 to 1600Betting is cappedhh123: calls 400*** FIRST DRAW ***hh123: discards 2 cardsdanny purse: discards 2 cards [Td Ah]Dealt to danny purse [7s 6d 3s] [6s 4h]hh123: bets 400danny purse: raises 400 to 800hh123: raises 400 to 1200danny purse: raises 400 to 1600Betting is cappedhh123: calls 400*** SECOND DRAW ***hh123: discards 1 carddanny purse: discards 1 card [6s]Dealt to danny purse [7s 6d 3s 4h] [Js]hh123: bets 800danny purse: raises 800 to 1600hh123: calls 20 and is all-in*** THIRD DRAW ***hh123: stands pat danny purse: discards 1 card [Js]

cap is terrible--like, TERRIBLE--predraw. raise with a bad 7 draw after you get donkbet into (he's saying he's improved) is also bad. other streets are standard.

So I should raise-call predraw? Call after the 1st draw? And raise after the 2nd draw? Using this line, we'd both be deeper after the 2nd draw, should I raise-call again or cap if (when) he reraises this time? What kind of hands do you need to cap predraw heads up, 4 cards to a smooth 8 or better?

i would raise/call predraw, yes. and call after 1st draw, and raise/call the 2nd, breaking an 810 or worse with a redraw and raise/folding a 10J.as for the raise/calling things, it really depends on the opponent. there are a lot of guys that i try to snow or make them break almost every time. there are others that i never do either against, so it's really tough to say one way or the other. i tend to play very aggressively, so i'd lean toward raise/capping the 2nd draw in position with a jack and 7 redraw if he still pats. were you OOP, i'd probably just c/c and toss the jack.HU i cap any 3 card draw with a deuce, sometimes stuff like 3x8 if x ain't a seven. of course, i mix this up a lot, so that's just a standard guideline. this is also read dependent, too, since you'd be the one that would know if you should be capping 358 or something if its ahead of a villain's range. sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

that second one's totally standard, yes :club:.basically if you are pretty sure that your opponent is going to be drawing on the end, pat a jack or better. sometimes they'll trick you and you won't get a chance to draw to beat them if they play passively in position and then pat the end behind, but that's generally a big mistake on their part and they're missing value if you recognize the strength of that sort of line and don't pay them off.

We are supposed to assume that he made precisely a J8, AND that he stood pat with it OOP? After he improved and bet every previous street?

anyone stand pat with the jack low?
after he pats in front that would be absolutely horrid. we only win if he has a J9 (which wouldn't really make sense as played) or is snowing.
