CobaltBlue 662
Well, I'm in Georgia. As you can see.. it's all coke here.I claim Georgia also...and I still think it's dumb that it's all 'Coke'. 'Soft drink' ftw.
Dogpatch 2
I claim Georgia also...and I still think it's dumb that it's all 'Coke'. 'Soft drink' ftw.Yea... Auburn is close enough to Georgia. I've lived in Auburn and I used to make the trip to Macon, GA on a whim. I just grew up with it all being coke so I'm used to it. It is rather dumb I guess, but coke sounds so much better than POP. Mercury69 3
Glass Bottled, mostly.Fountain is fine, as long as they're not cutting corners with the syrup.Cans are OK, about the same as plastic bottles.

CobaltBlue 662
Yea... Auburn is close enough to Georgia. I've lived in Auburn and I used to make the trip to Macon, GA on a whim.I claim Georgia cause I moved into the state in 3rd grade and lived there until I went to college. We actually lived just over the border from Chattanooga. But yeah, my driver's license was in Georgia and I liked the state because I considered it one of the more "progressive" ones in the southeast.
grocery_mony 9
Cans by far. Glass is good but there are few places you can get glass bottles and it is ussually root beer. Fountain is terrible and it tastes flat right from the first sip. Just sticky flavored sugar water. I ussually just get bottled water instead of fountain at fast food joints. ShakeZuma 586
This would be a much better topic if we were discussing beer.ew grossglass bottles are the tits. the only ones I know of that are still around (among the big manufacturers) are the little cokes. does anybody here in the states know where to get full size glass bottled soda (coke or pepsi, dr pepper or some other large brand)? I actually searched online a few days ago but couldn't come up with anything. I really miss the big glass bottles.is it sad that I'm old enough to miss glass bottles? damn, I didn't think I was that old.
coesillian 0
if I got this right some of you guys call soda/pop/soft drinks coke. Like sprite and mountain dew are cokes? weird. If I asked for a coke would the waitresse say what kind of coke. to which I would reply coke coke. Am I getting this right?
ShakeZuma 586
if I got this right some of you guys call soda/pop/soft drinks coke. Like sprite and mountain dew are cokes? weird. If I asked for a coke would the waitresse say what kind of coke. to which I would reply coke coke. Am I getting this right?no not really. the misconception is that southerners refer to all soft drinks as cokes when in actuality they (yes, we) refer to the brown, coke-like soft drinks as cokes only, just the regular sodas. we'd call a mountain dew a mountain dew (if you could find a self respecting southerner that would actually drink a mountain dew) or a dr pepper a dr pepper if that was what we wanted. coke is just a word used for regular soda as in "what do you want to drink?" "coke's fine". and any time I hear a person call it "pop", it makes me want strangle them, then let off just a little so they can get just a hint of air to keep them alive, then start strangling them again, and keep repeating this over and over again until my hands are too tired to do it anymore, at which point I will enjoy a frosty cold coke. showstopper24 0
The part of Cleveland seems to be true. We normally say 'pop', sometimes say 'coke' but never say 'soda'.I also prefer bottled drinks so you can drink some, put it away, and drink it again.
coesillian 0
I also prefer bottled drinks so you can drink some, put it away, and drink it again.ya you could do that if you like flat soft drinks. Thats what we call them in english quebec, soft drinks.
