One game left in the season and both Canadian Gothic and Underdogs have clinched a bye in the first round by winning their respective divisions. Here is what every game will mean after the Christmas b

Whalers Sean Monahan (CGY) Jamie Benn (DAL) Tyler Johnson (TBL) G Jakub Voracek (PHI) A A Jordan Eberle (NYI) Mikael Granlund (MIN) G G G Defense Erik Karlsson (OTT) A A Brandon M

Higher seed gets home ice in all games and wins all ties. Goal is to make regular season seeding have real tangible value.

3 out of the 4 series saw an upset in game 1. They will do it all again tomorrow.

#1 Canadian Gothic 1 vs #4 Whalers 2

#2 The Big M's 0 vs #3 Shortstackers 4.5

#1 Underdogs 4 vs #4 Puck Warfare 5

#2 PK Dealers 3.5 vs #3 Shoot Loose 0

Oddly enough all 4 games were won by the team with the higher Champions +/-

Three of the four series are now tied at 1 with Puck Warfare pulling off the upset against the #1 seed in Division B, Underdogs. As a testament to how important the regular season is, the Whalers had a chance to close out Canadian Gothic, but the rules favor the home team in all ties so Canadian Gothic escapes defeat and will play a game 3.

Champions League play takes a two week holiday and then we return with game 3, the deciding game between the three series that are unfinished.

Semi-Final Game 2 Jan 4th

#1 Canadian Gothic 3 vs #4 Whalers 3 (series tied 1-1)

#2 The Big M's 4.5 vs #3 Shortstackers1 (series tied 1-1)

#1 Underdogs 0 vs#4 Puck Warfare 1.5 (Puck Warfare wins 2-0)

#2 PK Dealers -0.5 vs #3 Shoot Loose 2.5 (series tied 1-1)

barring a miracle, im done.

was 3-1 for me, then Gothic's Subban, Schenn and then Lee from Leddy scored in last hour. 4.5-3 for Dale, and I only have Eberle+Granlund for about a period each.

(lol Eberle just got stopped on 2-1)

Zucker empty net goal

Dammit. Close but I’ll lose in the tiebreaker, even though I’d win OT and SO. (With Vanek left to fade.)

Also lost a tiebreaker to lose the rights to this tiebreaker.

GG Dale.

I have to admit, I wanted this win badly. I got more into the 'side bets' this year than in the past, had a lot of fun going somewhat deep in both, and thinking I had a legit shot at both.

Enjoy the Champ league finals, good luck!

Pretty sick beat for Shortstackers it looks like. Regular season standings play a huge role in Champions League! Last minute goal from Zucker not enough

Two Shortstacker losses to The Big Ms during the regular season were only by 0.5
