I haven't seen the movie but I did read the book and I highly recommend it. Toby Maguire was in most of the games and is a big winner and a dick. Ben Affleck was an occasional player. I guess I started to watch because I felt a sentiment for the songs of my youth, but the doc on its own was really well done. Only 10 or 11 people have even finished it in the 25 year history of the race (40 entrants each year). Really interesting, entertaining doc. Icarus: The director sets out to make what would have been a mildly interesting but forgettable documentary about doping in the cycling world, but he ends up embroiled in the Russian Olympic doping scandal. If you wanted to meet Allen Iverson, all you had to do was go to Subway across from the hotel the night before the game (in Toronto). He would be sitting there eating dinner.
