FCP Bob 1,312
http://www.slate.com...ld_j_trump.html My First Big Boy Trip By Donald J. Trump. I’m getting ready for my big foreign trip. I will be strongly protecting American interests—that’s what I like to do! The airplane ride is hours and hours. I get lots of screen time! No one wants to give me my phone, but I shout and shout until they say OK. On the plane, the pilot pins shiny wings to my jacket. Yay! I like planes as much as I like trucks! Our first stop is Saudi Arabia. Jared says it is like a beach, big and hot and full of sand. No girls are allowed on the beach. They eat crazy food in Saudi Arabia, like hummus! But I get to order a steak with ketchup, just the way I like it. Mr. Steve tells me Muslims are the bad guys, but General Jim says I have to be nice to them. It’s confusing! I wish General Mike was here. I’m not allowed to play with him anymore. After Saudi Arabia we go to Israel, where the best Jews live. My friend Bibi sneaks into my room after dark and tells me scary stories about the bad ISIS men. I can’t wait to go home and tell my friends Sergey and Sergey. I don’t want to go to the sad museum. In Italy, they call pizza PIZZA! My teachers tell me that if I sit by myself and think about the long-term economic and security benefits of our multilateral North Atlantic defense regime, I can have pepperoni. I get to meet the “pope”! Don’t tell anyone, but before I left I was a little bit scared about my trip. What if the other leaders laughed at me? What if I had to touch Melania? What if I had an accident? But Ivanka said I should be brave. “Who’s my big brave boy?” Ivanka asked me. “I am,” I said. “I’m a big brave boy.” It’s been an exciting trip, but when it’s over, I’ll be glad to be home at Mar-a-Lago, where I get as much ice cream as I want. mrdannyg 274
How come every time Dale posts a link about things the bullshit mainstream media is ignoring, it's something that a Canadian guy who doesn't watch cable and barely follows the news has read about repeatedly? digitalmonkey 929
That's a sweet deal "The USA" just made with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia played a significant role in the 9/11 attacks, if you recall. But ****! What do you think about that romper for men?

Trump didn't even say "Israel" when he was revealing well-placed Israeli intelligence in ISIS to one of the main allies and benefactors of ISIS just a few days before an attack. FCP Bob 1,312
We're not talking about this because we all agree, right? https://www.thestar....l-paradkar.html what does Canada owe to the teenage child of a terrorist family who while born in Canada has spent most of his life outside the country and is actively fighting against "our" side ? I feel for him in that he wasn't given a choice based on who his Father was but the fact is that he was an enemy combatant fighting against us. Also a fact was that he was a child who should have been treated differently than an adult once captured. I think they should have let the courts decide the amount of compensation if any he deserves. MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I honestly dont know what to think on this one. Bob mentioned quite a few of the issues I have with this, on both sides of the argument. There is also a lot I dont know about him+his case, so I wont make a big to do about it either way. It would just be uneducated opinions.

He was a kid who follow his father's wishes. Unfortunately got tangled into an extremely ugly mess. However, I believe he relinqish his rights as a Canadian once you start fighting with ISIS. In this age of extremely partisan politics, I think we are losing our ability to see gray. It's too often black and white, even when it's not.
Dubey 1,035
I don't know how complicit Canada was in his treatment at Guantanamo Bay, I don't really know how Guantanamo bay works/worked to be honest, but there is a precedent in the past for "home" countries paying settlements for mistreatments there (UK and Australia I believe?) I don't think child soldiers should be held responsible for their actions or be treated as adults when captured. Sounds like some pretty horrible things were done to him, and no amount of money is going to fix that. Should Canada be paying? I don't know, or really care, but I think it's fair that he is getting paid. If the precedent is for Canada to pay him, that's fine. 10.5M is nothing. doesn't affect me, or anyone other citizen in this country.
mrdannyg 274
I haven't read the article but probably agree with it. I disagree with bob. I don't know how you can consider someone who was imprisoned in a torture facility for his entire adult life an "enemy combatant".
