I get a craving for late night Nachos every once in awhile

Other than that, I don't go that often. Not a big fan of Tacos, Burittos and such

I usually only get a nacho bell grande. I love it.

Man, this makes me want to start a drink of the day thread haha. I miss bartending sometimes.                         Until Serge orders a drink and then leaves without paying for it.

That is my favorite at Taco Bell. No refried beans.

Also love the beef burrito with hot sauce.

I bartended for almost 4 years. I can make you like 20 different mules :)

I'll take your top 3 fav recipes that most people wouldn't know about.

I may need to make myself some drinks soon the way my FCHL night is going suddenly.

I'll try to post some good mule and bourbon cocktail recipes later tonight when I get home. I have a journal I started back when I was a noob bartender that I used as a cheat sheet until I got the hang of making all the different cocktails and shots. As I got more and more comfortable, I would add shot and cocktail recipes that I would find online, in books, or in some cases ones that I would create.

We used to play a game on slower nights where all of the bartenders would throw in $10-$20 and we would have the cocktail servers send in a ticket that listed a basic color...Green, Red, Blue, Orange, etc and/or a specific ingredient - Blue Curacao, Tequila Rose, Captain Morgan, etc.. The bartenders would then take turns making drinks from scratch using random ingredients with the only requirement being that the finished drink must be the color on the ticket or have used at least a shot of the specific ingredient...sometimes both. The cocktail servers would then taste and rate each one and the winner kept the money. Some of the drinks were awful, but it taught you which ingredients mixed well together and which ones did not. Fun times.

Trump and serge are similar. They both like to stiff people they owe money to.

Come on serge. Stop being a coward. Be a man for once in your life.

Trump will release his tax returns before Serge pays his debt. He's scummy like that.

if I remember correctly it was 1.5 ounces soda water, 1.5 ounces bourbon. Muddled blackberries, splash of pineapple juice, teaspoon of sugar. Just tasted like a Bourbon and soda lol. None of the blackberry/pineapple/sugar flavour came through at all. It was still good and I drank it because it was good bourbon, but I could have saved all of the effort and just poured a bourbon and soda.

Have you ever tried to infuse your bourbon? I'd definitely recommend it if you want to have those flavors shine through. Downside is it can take several days/weeks depending on your own taste preferences, but its definitely worth it in my opinion. Bourbon and mixers like soda water are going to mask most of the flavor you get through muddling. If you do muddle, make sure you are twisting and not just pressing down...and really make sure the ingredients are blended together well.

This is a simple recipe I make pretty frequently

Shot of bourbon (2 oz)

3/4 oz honey

3/4 oz lemon juice

mix it all in a shaker and pour over rocks. simple but delicious. honey/lemon works really well with bourbon.

Here's another personal fav that I found online several years ago

Mint leaves (4 or 5 decent sized leaves)

Handful of blackberries

1/2 oz simple syrup

1/2 oz Cointreau

2 oz Bourbon

1 peeled and diced plum

Muddle the mint, blackberries, simple syrup, and plum in a shaker glass. Add your ice, Cointreau and Bourbon.

I've experimented quite a bit with this recipe. If you don't like plums, peaches are very good in this recipe too. You can replace the blackberries with blueberries, raspberries, etc. and play around with the flavors. All very good in my opinion.
