and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

I think it's Catt Hall.

Most of my poli-sci classes were in MacKay. I minored in it.

By the way, I'm a loyalist to everything in my life. School, sports teams, friends, etc. I am unreasonably sad that Nuclear Engineering is getting torn down. I think I was only in that building one time too. I just love it when campuses fix up and maintain old buildings, instead of constructing modern buildings. I'm still super pissed that they torn down Knapp and Storms, especially now that they have such a horrible shortage of residential buildings. Such a dumb decision.

Yeah, Catt. I'm an idiot. I didn't know about Nuclear Engineering getting torn down. That makes me sad, too. That building looked exactly what you think a Nuclear Engineering building would look like. I never had any classes there but I think my Engineering advisor was in there the one semester I was an engineer. I think anyways. I don't now what my favorite building would be. I spent a lot of time in Carver Hall when I didn't need to. I liked the little lobby area with the comfy couches. Gerdin got like 90% of my time though.

So I needed cheddar cheese for my cooking tonight, and I couldn't buy that at Sam's club in a reasonable quantity, so I had to make a stop at a standard Walmart. I also needed the stick butter.

The cheese was a straightforward decision, it goes bad pretty quickly. The butter, man was it a different situation. It expires in August, what do you do?

I bought two family packs of 8, for less than $4. I feel like that was the right call.

You're lucky Tilt because my phone deleted my post EVISCERATING you for saying I drank the liberal kool-aid ™ at college. Just know whatever you think college is like is not correct. Especially a state ag school in the middle of Iowa.

And maybe you need better friends because I wouldn't hesitate to drop whatever I was doing to come change your lightbulbs and neither would any of my friends.

Thank you to your phone because after I left here I realized you were going to eviscerate me, even though I was only trying to push your buttons. Your reaction though was exactly what I thought it would be once I realized you were going to take me seriously.

Every single one of my friends, neighbors and family members that I asked would do whatever, including changing light bulbs, would do so in a heart beat. I was saying that, even knowing this, I would not feel comfortable asking.

It's not malicious. I just don't like owing people a favor. You buy me cookie I get you cookie. Simple as pie.

Okay Sheldon.

He must have just been a bad comic then, because while not a west coast school, ISU is pretty liberal. I frequently had poli-sci teachers laughing at conservatives during class.

Thanks for the backup brvy.

Bought some more hamburger meat for upcoming good weather. However I got these awesome buns and want to try it tonight with the oven again because I'm impatient and it was delicious.

Also 1% milk was yet again 5 days further out expiring. Doesn't make sense, how could that be the case consistently.

I'll keep you guys in the loop on any further grocery shopping.

My guess is 1% lasts longer because of the lower fat content. I bet skim milk lasts even longer.

* Did a quick search and found this on How stuff works; "Some dairy scientists say skim lasts longer because certain fat-loving microbes can't develop as quickly in nonfat milk. Others say that whole milk lasts longer because free fatty acids might actually be natural preservatives. Still others say that maybe there isn't a difference in spoilage rate at all — it's just that we notice flavor changes more in skim milk [sources: Murphy, Roberts]."

So, who the hell knows.

We'll buy the big thing of butter at Costco and put 2 or 3 lbs in the freezer. And cheese almost never goes bad in my house because we're all cheese lovers.

What do you use that much butter for? I just had to throw out some butter because it was expired for months. I eat cheese like a fiend though. Love me some cheesy eggs. Although not much lately because I DON'T NEED THE CALORIES.

Hairs getting fairly long now. I think I'm past a year without a haircut now. Been thinking about getting it cut into a mullet or something equally ridiculous but only to the point where I can come back a week later and get a legitimately #great haircut. The thing is...my haircuts cost $50 and I don't want to have to pay $50 twice but I can't just trust this to any ol' barber at Great Clips. So, I don't know, guess I'm just getting a normal fantastic haircut. Nobody is going to hire a long haired hippie to run their numbers.

I use it for Mac n cheese and also sometimes for eggs and sausage. I use Pam sometimes as well.

People care about your spreadsheets, not your hair.

you're right.. if you want to keep napa wedged in middle management hell forever. This kid's got a bright future, with VP written all over him, though, and guys like Napa, they have standards they have to maintain.

We use it for everything some might use margarine for. Other than choco chip cookies. My wife does use margarine for that. Plus there's 4 of us here, not just one. And I do need the calories. Up to 161.5 now though, can't remember if I mentioned that. Fvcking chemo brain.

what a sheldon

Thanks, Strat, I needed that. Got a long day ahead of me. I also admire the work you've done with excel and it has inspired me numerous times.

My hair IS phenomenal. Stop me if I already told this story but we had our Christmas party last month at a hotel banquet room and as I walked into the hotel trying to figure out where to go a coworker waved me over and he told me that his wife saw me as I walked in and said "oh my Brvy, look at how good Napa's hair is. He always has such good hair!"

But, it is long and unkempt at the moment and, unfortunately, when you look like you're just out of school people tend to not take you as serious and I need every advantage I can get so a professional looking haircut is in order.

I saw something yesterday where Goldman Sachs is hiring less and less analysts and more and more Computer Engineers. Got me wondering if I need to start pivoting my career trajectory ASAP. I can code a little but not that much and I'm definitely lacking in higher level math skills.

I cringe whenever I see stuff like this, even when it happens to me, because I can't stand it when employees couldn't care less about stealing from their employer.

I'm in a great spot with my boss (dean of education) too. Today I spent like 13k and she didn't even really look at the PO before signing off on it. I had some stuff in there that I still think she would have rejected had she even looked at it. It's nice to be trusted like that.

Hmmm.

My favorite building by FAR was MacKay. MacKay 118 was a secret room for non-traditional students that almost no one ever used and I was in there all day every day that I had class. Huge comfy sofas, a fridge, a fireplace, windows that you could open, it was seriously the greatest thing ever. The advisor for non-traditional students even stocked it with snacks!

I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about how awesome it was to study in there and so sad for all the people that don't know how easy it is to access. You just have to stop by the main humanities desk and ask the coed at the desk for the key to 118, sign the clipboard, and have your very own den. I took my group partners there every time and the whole time they would just talk about how awesome the room was.

By the way it's UNDER the balcony of MacKay 117, where you probably took Human Sexuality.

But further bad news, they remodeled the room and moved the humanities welcome desk from 131 to 118 in 2014, thereby destroying one of my favorite study places on campus.

We always buy our butter at Sam's. Four 1lb boxes with 4 sticks each in a single pack. Generally we have one 4 pack (16 sticks) in the fridge and one pack in the freezer. Butter and cheese freeze really well and last forever in the freezer. You should be buying the 5lb bags of cheese at Sam's and then splitting them into ziplocks at home. Freeze 4 bags and keep one in the fridge. Get that $/ounce way down by buying in bulk.

Let me be clear Napa, I've never seen your hair and it's probably phenomenal. But your spreadsheets are even more impressive and beautiful.

I wish I knew how Napa's spreadsheets looked, but I HAVEN'T EVER RECEIVED ONE!

Hmmm.

:)

I'm not 100% sure I'm picking up what you are unjustly laying down, Colbster.

I didn't even imply that I personally benefited or stole anything from my employer. Everything I bought is on the school's inventory spreadsheet and owned by the school. I DIDN'T STEAL ANYTHING, COLBY!

So what happened to the other 2 boxes of butter?

(that's how we buy it at Costco)

It's killing you to think Colby thought you stole something, huh?

Hey Napster, heard a Fisher was spotted in Iowa for the first time since the 1800's. Everyone must be pretty excited, huh?
