Napa Lite 3,278
I am wearing a flannel shirt and still freezing. I really need to keep a cardigan in my work locker.
Essay21 2,385
Cardigans seem weak to me. If you're going to wear a sweater, wear the sweater. Don't give yourself an out with buttons. Commit. Pull that motherfvcker over the head and live the sweater life with pride.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
When you guys move in with me down here, so yourself a favor, throw away all but 3 of your sweaters. Keep 4 if you want to be a clothes horse and get chilly easy. I have 3, one is new and hasn't been worn, and it's thin. And orangish

InternetExplorer 2,609
The most frustrating thing about my job is I often rely on blathering idiots to make simple changes, and yet they continue to screw things up. Big client, the guy I'm going to see in West Palm in two weeks asks only that all his statements and tax documents be mailed to the Florida home during he winter. I say no problem, and tell the morons here who do that stuff to make sure anything we mail goes to the Florida home. And yet half the mail goes to Florida and the other half to Carolina. These people are killing me. I have to explain to this guy, who has 50 million with us, that we can't make a simple address change. It's goddamn unacceptable. fundamentally I am a part of the team that supports people like you. I take it very hard when something like this happens. the instances where a document that is sent to the $50 million client has the wrong DOB or SSN, or whatever--I just hear these stories, and feel so terrible for the lead advisor, who has to apologize for shit he/she has little influence over, in the scheme of things. the relationship I was responsible for--the CFO of a $250B company--finally did end after eight months on my watch. considering how damaged the relationship was when it was given to me, and how important it was that he didn't ice our referrals during a crucial transition period, it was a big win. it wasn't related to anything I did, fortunately. I now understand the completely helpless feeling advisors deal with on a day to day basis.

hank213 1,823
Did I mention I found an issue a couple weeks ago that had the potential of putting, at a minimum, half the company out of work as well as tanking the parent corporation's stock? Found a rather egregious violation that, had an auditor found when they're here in a few weeks, could have cost us our PCI level 1 certification. Had that happened, 99.2% of the clients on the platform I service would no longer have been able to use our services and a huge portion of clients on other platforms would probably be eyeing the door just as soon as they could get an RFP approved. Got kudos from our head of compliance, CFO, and president. The most beautiful part? It was all traced back to the department my sworn enemy oversees. You best believe that I'm bringing that shit up when bonuses are announced and we do performance review for salary increases.

Tiltinagain 973
All done with meeting in SC and set to fly out early tomorrow morning. Until, within an hour or so, while finishing up our last meeting today, all of us that flew in get flight cancelled emails from our airlines. "Huge" storm coming in overnight and in the morning so apparently all the airlines just punted on all flights out of here until tomorrow evening at the earliest. I thought I had gotten lucky and they just changed my flight to an earlier flight. Well, they did but it took me a while to notice the new flight was for SATURDAY morning.fvck me. So I get to spend another day here, with nothing to do. Only positive is there's a couple other guys in the same boat so I'll have someone to hang out with.

Essay21 2,385
My car wasn't blowing hot air. They say it's 2000 to fix the head gasket, timing belt, etc. I'm not paying 2000 to fix a 2004 civic.

Essay21 2,385
I wanted to wait to see what my bonus would be and my tax refund before committing to a car. But now we gotta move. Though I'm considering just driving this car until it blows.
Napa Lite 3,278
Is it leaking fluid? Like, a lot? If not you might be able to buy some gasket sealant to buy yourself some time. All you do is dump it into the radiator and let it run for awhile.

Essay21 2,385
It was overheating, but they said the cold weather helped it. I saw the gauge go over the red line, but with coolant I should be okay until I get a new one. Gonna try to get a better trade in at a dealership that doesn't know it needs work.
