After receiving that heartwarming letter, we typed up this response:   Dear Jordyn   Thank you very much for writing to the Whalers organization. You may not know this being just a 6 year old gir

.

open lineup spots = parity   ultimate goal is to play none on none, tie game.

October Moves:

Add: T.Erixon CBJ D

To Whalers: $.50 in 16-17

To Thieves: Tarasov+Martinook

To Whalers: Iginla, JJohnson, NJ Gtd

To Ravens: Barbashev, Fast, (both on farm) Whalers #2+#3 in 2015, Erixon CBJ D, NYI Gtd, $.25 in 15-16

hated giving up on Barby, but wanted the depth, esp at D and NJ gtd was a target.

Iginla was actually my target at the auction with my limited funds, but St.Louis went less than I would have guessed so spent it on him. Now I have both.

It really is!

Have I ever played it at the AHL draft? One of my other pools I used to play after every ex-Whaler or Hurricane was taken. You'd love it for the first 4 hours, and then kind of get sick of it after that.

And then you couldn't get it out of your head for days! lol

Officially called up Gustav Nyqvist on Sunday November 2nd. Was tempted to keep him on the farm one more year, but the combination of empty fwd spots that day and the panic from the awful start of the year, changed my mind.

Called him up, he got nothing. My other 2 decisions that I chose to keep on the farm for now (Monahan+Tatar) both scored.

All my forwards scored a combined 0. Luckily, D and GTD came thru, narrow victory over the Swackers.

Its been a tough month for the Whalers. Scored the first 4 goals in the NHL on Friday night......but it was an off night.

Kessel and Nyqvist continue to score when not in the lineup.

hoping this trend ends soon, so I can get back into the race in our division. Last in standings, first in plus/minus.

per rotoworld....

David Masternak was selected as the AHL Rookie of the Month for October.

In seven games for Providence, Pastrnak generated two goals and seven assists to earn the honor. Masternak currently has 10 points in nine contests with the Bruins' minor-league affiliate. He should get a chance to play with the big club at some point this season.

way too early for this, and we all know its going to change. But...

Whalers own the players who are:

2nd overall in scoring (Voracek)

3rd overall in scoring (Kessel)

5th overall in scoring, and highest D-man (Giordano)

its strange to look at the top 5 and see 3 Whalers. Usually more about depth then top power.

You think?

I dont know, I see Voracek as more top 10. :)

Also, my record should probably be better with these 3 playing like this. :(

You need to coach Kessel better on game nights.

Tell me about it.

Nothings worse than seeing your best player in the AHL score on an off night, when he's playing your goalie who is your MVP in your other pool.

I needed a 3-0 Boston win last night, couple of goals by Marchand, but got nothing near what I needed. That hurt.

beefing up the D. Im a Streit fan, hoping he can keep up his magic and stay healthy for another year or 3.

Beleskey has been crazy good, and I think Reider has a really bright future, but we're playing to win now in WhalerLand.

What a trade. Sell absurdly high on someone playing soooo unsustainably and an FA pickup from like a week ago for a legit d-man.

I had Beleskey last year, traded him to Dale this summer, and he let him go unsigned.
