Hi.   I thought of you when I took this photo.

Warming up for for the NegO with the biggest Mexican beer out there,Pale colour, Not much head, no real nose, not a hop anywhere, very light, watery flavour, really need the lime.4.5%ABV

2 things. Chrozzo, as far as I am concerned, you started this craft beer craze for me. And 2. SuitedAces21 i hate Kansas.

Day 7,290,587:Avery Brewery - Mephistopheles' StoutBoulder, ColoradoMephistopheles is the crafty shape shifter, the second fallen angel. Amazingly complex, coal black, velvety and liqueurish, this demon has a bouquet of vine-ripened grapes, anise and chocolate covered cherries with flavors of rum-soaked caramelized dark fruits and a double espresso finish. IBU's 107.Mephistopheles is the final installment of “The Demons of Ale” series.EnjoyMephistopheles-Stout_beer_medium.jpgavery-mephistopheles-2.jpgChrozzo's Notes: YES.Chrozzo's Ranking: Definite TenAlcohol Content: The one i had was 16.83%
Love me some avery, their IPA is one of my favorites for sure. Only one of the demon series I've had is the beast, their grand cru which was sweet as hell and like 15%. Too expensive but so intriguing.

http://www.businessinsider.com/pabst-blue-...in-china-2010-9Pabst Blue Ribbon Goes For $44 A Bottle In ChinaMax Read, Gawker | Sep. 3, 2010, 11:20 AM | 259 | 1 In the U.S., Pabst Blue Ribbon (or PBR) is a cheap, unpretentious beer popular among hipsters. In China, it's "Blue Ribbon 1844," costs about $44 a bottle, and is called a "world-famous spirit." It also comes in a funny bottle. Chinese media blog Danwei found the above ad in a "respected biweekly business magazine" called Window of the South. That fancy-looking bottle all by itself in a dark room? It's PBR, reborn as Blue Ribbon 1844 (well... kind of—see update below) and accompanied by some very flowery ad copy:It's not just Scotch that's put into wooden casks. There's also Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer 1844Many world-famous spiritsAre matured in precious wooden casksScotch whiskey, French brandy, Bordeaux wine...They all spend long days inside wooden casksUh-huh. 1844 is, of course, the year the Pabst Brewing Company was founded in Milwaukee. The New Yorker's Evan Osnos attributes the rebranding to China's newfound use for alcohol as a "prime tool for conspicuous consumption," and, of course, "the Chinese fondness for trophies and ribbons.Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/pabst-blue-...9#ixzz0yU1AXZiL

IMG_2534.jpgPacificoThis is a very light beer good for afternoons on the beach which makes since since it’s brewed in Mazatlan. 4.5%ABVGood head, quite clear. Clean arrival very smooth with a hint of sweetness, this beer is very chugable, nose not much, finish has just a hint of hops. This is a rather watery beer but will hit the spot as a thirst quencher. Yes this is swill but I normally drink this while watching the sun set over ocean or or more rarely like today inland but it was on hand.

Modelo Especial4.5% ABVThis one has a bit of body with light hops in the arrival with lightly toasted flavour gives it a bit of twang. Still a light beer but a step up from Pacifico.IMG_2538.jpg

BarrilitoLast of the Mexican swill beers, this one is a favorite throughout the Sierra found lining the ditches of all the back roads, often it is the only beer sold in the back country. at a 3.6%ABV this is almost a near beer with not a whiff of hops or any body to speak, this beer is recommended if you are so dry that your tongue is sticking to the back of your mouth which I find is a common occurrence in this neck of the Mexican woods. Feel free to drink severa of these and not feel a thing. This is the last of the beers I have on hand out in the bush, will be sampling a better selection when I get back to the bright lights of the big city.IMG_2540.jpg

Negra ModeloJust got back to the city, time to go out. This is one of my default Mexican beers, widely available and quite enjoyable, it's 5.3% ABV so stronger than most Mexican beers, medium brown colour, roasted malty, caramel flavours comes through giving it some body but not overpowering and remains refreshing, some hop taste in the background.Went well with my steak.IMG_2555.jpg

Noche Buena 2011This is a bock that is only sold at Christmas. I like to buy and put away a couple of cases each year. It's medium brown reddish 5.9%ABV toast and nice hops are in the nose, taste slightly sweet, softly bitter with the sweet and bitter balancing off nicely, has a lot of body for a Mexican beer but still is rather light and crisp for a dark beer that goes down smooth. This could be drunk on the beach and heat or equally as well on cold nights. If you are ever in Mexico for the winter holidays look out for this beer.IMG_2563.jpg

Two beers of the day and since I'm traveling tomorrow these are the last of the Mexican beers for now.IndioThis is a budget beer, Dark Amber colour 4.5%ABV caramel comes through but couldn't find the hops, smooth and a bit better than the beach beers.Served with Rib-eye and Chihauhua cheese tacos.IMG_2574.jpgBohemia ObscuraOne of the best Mexican beers, 5.5%ABV, dark amber colour, moderate head, good malty taste, sweet caramel in the background, hops do come through. This is more complex than the average, I would drink it more often but it's sometimes hard to find.Served with Rib-eye and Oaxaca CostrasIMG_2575.jpg
