Well, that's ONE guy!Of course, if you can't see how entire industries stand to profit from refuting global warming, that would make you truly blind-ER.Damn scientists and Al Gore hoarding all the mobney while the execs at EXXON and CHEVRON live off cabbage soup and stale bread.
I love how you always make comments about things I never said.

Yes. The conclusion was that it had to do with the fact that it's WINTER.

Boom. It's on page 2 now.

Hmm. I wonder if anything significant has happened in the past 100 or so years that might affect global warming. I mean, I can't think of a single damn thing. Not one.

lol, then what were you saying exactly? That Al Gore got rich off global warming but you stipulate that those who oppose global warming have more financial incentive to do so?Good point.

Fact is there is a lot more money to be made in the new industries like solar and wind.Algore made his Billion by investing in the companies that are yet to make a profit without tax incentives.Natural Gas will be the next decades best source of energy, unless the alternative industry demonizes them in order to make the vast billions they will make off of this bad science.Of course big oil is spending money to keep their monopoly. That means only that, it doesn't mean nobody else will promote their industry.

I am stumped as to your point, then. I guess what you said had no purpose or meaning.
I thought my point was clear, MK is blinded by his ideology, nothing else.

I apologize for injecting truth into the discussion, but Al Gore does not have a billion dollars. Also, he made most of his money investing in Apple and Google.

Much of the money has dried up. There had been a huge market in NJ for solar instalations. My company did several of that totaled over 1m in sales. These were all private sector projects being supported through government grants...we made a pretty soild margin on them. The problem is the product is not cost effective, it doesn't work as a financial model unless the government subsidies it and without cap and trade there is no market to sell the esracks. In the last 3 to 6 months the market for that has just shrank....because it is really just bad business model. Wind is worse from what i have seen. It was nice to get a piece of the governments wasted money though!!!Natural gas is HUGE right now in the mountains of PA and some of the neighboring states. I wasn't in Texas durig the oil rush of the 70's but I imagine it was something like this. There multi-bazzilionaires been created up there...if it really is as good as it appears I am going to be a happier man!!

Sure, my ideologies are science, facts, and pragmatism. Also, I enjoy typing all-caps screeds in hick voice. But seriously, a big problem for the global warming deniers is the only real motivating factor you can have to maintain your position is basically: I like driving a big car/truck. Or: I fear change. But mostly, I like burning fossil fuels. I just...LIKE it, OK? I like it so much I am unwilling to CONSIDER changing my habits, despite all the positive things that arise from taking measures that will combat climate change. Regardless of whether global warming is the result of man burning fossil fuels and releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere at a geometric rate, the results of reducing these pollutants would be:1.) Growth in new, more efficient, more sustainable technologies, creating a boom that can easily outweigh the initial economic costs to the established energy conglomerates.2.) Decreased dependence on foreign oil, bankrupting a corrupt cartel and limiting the power of ideological zealots in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, etc. These countries are cursed by their oil. The few who hold resource hold all the power and have no incentive to create actual economies. If you want to see real change and capitalism and democracy and stability in the middle east we need to stop sending them trillions of dollars for their oil.3.) Decreased dependence on finite natural resources, pre-empting global shocks in supply which will create panics that get progressively worse until the resource runs out.4.) Cleaner air5.) Cleaner waterThese are the most basic, CLEARLY POSITIVE scenarios that don't involve any doom and gloom predictions of sea levels rising and increasingly bizarre, potentially disastrous weather phenomena due to the earth attempting to self-regulate its temperature. These are just nice little externalities that we should be motivated to pursue regardless of any ideology. The benefits are immeasurable and will last for generations.Or, you know, we can continue to be a bunch of brain-dead idiots chanting drill, baby, drill, just cross our fingers and hope everything works out later.Conservatives weren't always this bad at conserving things. Mostly, these days, all they seem interested in is conserving the status quo.

I think the people against global warming are really just against spending billions of dollars on something that might not be a problem. So they're conserving financial resources. Or something. I only read the last couple sentences of your post.I recycle...if the recycle bin is closer than the trash can.I also make sure to turn the lights off when I leave a room.Yep, this guy is green yo.

Definitely. And some of them think Jesus would come down and usher in an era of perfection before things could get too out of hand.

According to Penn & Teller's Bull$hit, the dude in charge of LA county recycling said that it was actually consuming more energy to recycle stuff.
