Gruelling day. 1 tabling the 5 rebuy right now but it's not that deep yet and I only have 20 BBs.Won't go into too many details. Lost about $500 on 180s and $600 on MTTs.This is all part of the fun I gues, I'm giving a strong consideration to dropping 36 180s out of the schedule and making up for it with 12s but I'll give them another run tomorrow. edit - **** what I said here before , I'm playing til I don't want to play any moreThis isn't the start of this, I'm in the middle of a pretty hefty downswing in MTTs since mid February. I don't think anything is as tough as instantly losing a lot of bets in 6mLHE. Overall the cash game experience is a lot less frustrating, mostly because of the ability to quit when you please, although it doesn't have the excitement that tournaments sometimes have - somehow I still get quite excited to win a 12 180, despite the fact I've done it 20+ times now.I'd be playing more LHE but the games have been crappy all year at 10/20. Maybe I'll start playing a ton of 5/10 again if I give up this. It would turn into 70 days 50k (of which half comes from FPPs).

Done with 180s today, won $700 orso. Actually showed a profit in $36s!Bricked all but one MTT so far, got quite a few left and I feel I'm playing well.If anyone else wants to post a challenge in here I can edit the OP with what you are trying to do and you can post updates too. I know negs and trueace13 are interested.Tomorrow is cash games + the 2 really good miniftops events ($266 2 day and $53 super turbo)edit- bah 22nd in the $109, lost a flip for a fairly sizable stack.

Day 3 was meh. I feel I played really well all day. Ran bad deep in MTTs, lost a couple of crucial flips deep. Ran terrible at 36 180 FTs but shit happens and you gotta get used to it. Lost a tiny amount on the day. About $60.TLB- 406th with 3711 pts - 100th has 4540. I will get a small boost later from the $109 score.VPP - around 880 - 36.2k total.Currently about -$2.1k. Almost all of this is from MTTs with an average buy in of around $40.Relaxing day tomorrow.

I never really understand why the most asked question by beginners is how to play small pocket pairs. They're pretty simple to play for the most part, just don't go set mining with too shallow of a stack (I'd say > 40 BBs). In fact if a good player raises UTG on the first hand of a 1500 chip tournament I think you should fold a lot of the small ones, 22-55, you simply haven't the implied odds - people aren't just gonna barrel off or stack off light too often if they're any good (unless they are lurbz). I'd also fold these hands in early position if it was folded to me, there is so little value in them early on. You can raise them profitably in later position and defending them in the Big Blind with >40 BBs is okay too. There is an argument for open limping them in early position in the first couple of levels but I don't do it myself. I doubt it's profitable by any significant amount.My recommendation would be to play a lot in stuff you are bankrolled for. This is the best way to learn.With $300 on Pokerstars you can just about try the $4.40 180 mans or if you want something faster, the $2.20 180 man turbos. Once you've proved yourself to be a winner you can then possibly look for backing to higher stuff. There is no way anyone sane would back someone with little experience and no proven results. When you have played a lot and have some decent results. Try parttimepoker or twoplustwo for backing purposes. PTP is probably the better option.With $300 you have enough to play 5c/10c NL and I'd recommend that over tournaments, it's a much more flexible way to learn. Would you ever check raise and try to get as many chips out of him as possible, if he reraises allin and doesnt hit an ace. He wouldnt pay you if the flush comes cause he would fear you had it? Unless the person did have the flush draw do you call when your behind to hit the fullhouse?Main question is should you just not check raise at all because a good player would fold top pair top kicker or overpair to a check raise most of the time?
