Vtlaxer09 4
Parks and Recreation-from the writers of the office... stars amy poelher from saturday night live. Pretty horrible pilot imo. A couple laughs but poelher is just horrible and tries too hard... will ferrelesque except not funny. I give it 2 more episodes before they pull it.Southland- from the creator of ER. Cop drama in LA. Solid cast.. and i enjoyed it. Definitely worth watching this one.1/2 aint bad.
wsox8 10
I enjoyed Parks and Recreation. I really laughed hard when Aziz Ansari was hitting on Rashida Jones at the meeting. I'll probably keep watching.I didn't watch Southland because I thought the previews of the show sucked and it didn't help that it was from the producers of ER or from whoever on ER

dolfan 0
I really laughed hard when Aziz Ansari was hitting on Rashida Jones at the meeting.Yes, this part was great. But a conversation my buddy and I had pretty much ensured I won't really like this show unless it changes drastically. But since NBC plugged it as, "from the people who brought you The Office"...A show set in an unknown, smallish town about people working in a less-than-glamorous job, that's shot as a documentary, where the lead character is a dorky, unintelligent but well-meaning dolt......I will not be able to shake the thoughts of, "This is the Office revisited..." without something that completely sets it apart. hank213 1,823
I watched Southland simply because it has one of the guys from Band of Brothers in it and I'm such a fan of that miniseries I will give pretty much anything the alumns do a look just so they can keep working. I'm glad I did. It wasn't necessarily "cutting edge" or anything but it had some intelligence and shows promise. I'll keep tuning in to see how they progress.
king_tanner 84
I was amused with Parks and Recreation, but I didn't laugh out loud at anything. I thought Amy Poehler was funny, but there was just too much of her. I think it will be better if they show the supporting characters a little bit more.I have Southland on my DVR to watch tomorrow. Also DVR'ed Harper's Island. Did anyone catch that show?

Piddle Duck 0
I refused to watch P&R's because I can't handle the over-acting that Amy is so famous for and reading reviews, seems she didn't change it for this show. No loss there.Southland is on the DVR. I am excited about this one because it is from the some of the same people who did ER AND the West Wing. While one is much better than the other the best part of those two shows were the characters so I expect the same thing in this. And damn, I forgot Harpers. Too much on Thursdays and I can't watch and DVR it all.At 7:15 we started watching House from Monday. That ran past 8:00. Office was taping and so was Bones. Started watching Bones. Finished that, started watching the Office that aried at 8:00. After that watched the last part of the Wings game. By that time the 9:00 office was done, so we watched that. Then watched 30 Rock that was taped. We still have to watch Survivor this weekend on ON Demand. Hopefully Harpers is on there as well.
ajs510 122
I've got Southland on the DVR too, I'll probably watch that tonight.
Piddle Duck 0
Oh and Hells Kitchen as well, but I watch that on hulu at work.

dolfan 0
The Office is a good show.So The Office revisited= a good show.No arguments the Office is a good show and I can't blame people for sticking with a winning formula, but I don't really watch a ton of TV so I'll probably just stick with the Office if this show isn't going to be that different. Jadaki 0
Also DVR'ed Harper's Island. Did anyone catch that show?I watched it.I really don't know what to make of it yet. They try to set up some scary scenes that just were not scary (bad foreshadowing techniques, lulls in conversation interrupted by something that makes girls shriek), and they didn't go into much depth yet but have already killed off a couple characters. I was kind of curious since the EP is the same guy who did Jericho, so I'll probably DVR it for another week or two and see if I end up liking it.

I liked the cast of characters, and at this point it seems like there are a lot of people who can be guilty. I wonder if there is just one killer or multiple killers, or if the killer is someone who hasn't been introduced yet. With pretty much no evidence to back up my prediction, here is who I think it is: Abby's former boyfriend who she was playing pool with. Should I start a separate thread for this show?

LadyGrey 6
I watched the Parks and Recreation pilot and found it pretty awful. I don't like the way they've basically taken the Office concept (mockumentary with a self-centred moron boss). Most of the jokes were pretty obvious and not particularly amusing.I don't like Rashida Jones in it either - she is the same character in everything she does and I am tired of it. She is just the boring, uptight, sarcastic but attractive girl. I actually liked her the first time she played this character, but now I am sick of it. I'm fairly sure they even have her wear the exact same outfits in every movie/show she is in.
king_tanner 84
I liked Southland. I thought it was cool that there was a bunch of different conflicts going on instead of just one like in most shows.

king_tanner 84
Did anyone see Southland this week? I don't know if I like them showing only half the cast. Does this mean the other characters are going to get time next week?
