OK, so I'm starting with $10 and playing ring game NL hold'em online at PokerStars. A few rules:1. I won't move up in limits unless I have 500 big blinds for that limit. I'm starting at $0.01-$0.02 w

good luck playing against all the idiots that will try to bust you with 72o
If this is true, it won't take him as long as we think to move up limits.
The two posts above are related.
I don't think this is what the Bible meant when it tells us to be more like Jesus
LOL
LOL, no that's not me.Daniel loves to compete at things even when there is little or no money involved. It's why he's so passionate about our hockey pool.My guess is that variance will grab him at some point and he'll end up going broke. And yes Daniel I'm willing to make a prop bet on that.
I think he retro-built some protection into the challenge now. "5. NEW: At about the $5-$10 limit I may decide to increase the number of big blinds required to move up in limits. 500 BB's is plenty for the micro games, but could be rather short for the higher limit games with better opponents. I'll base my decision on when to do that at my discretion.6. NEW: I may also lower the buy in amount for the higher limit games from 1/5th of my bankroll per session to 1/10th of my bankroll per session. Again, I'll make that decision when the time comes."
Weird. After 55 hands I was up $5.33 and now after 358 hands I'm once again up $5.33 exactly!
LOL. It would be weirder still if you were $5.33 up on hands 555 and 3580.

I feel like i have been playing micro for ever now... Exciting to know Daniel is playing 0.01/0.02 as i do every day. Let's just hope he hits his AQ and AK on the flops... the few times i actually hit on the flop, someone had the same damn hand. Running bad...Anyway, i feel like following DN's rules and try it myself just to see how far i can get.

LOL.if you manage to get to 25nl... there is 0 chance you will come close to making it to 100nl using a "5 buyin rule"And LOL at thinking the games wont get tough until 5/10nl. LOLOLOLOL.

I've had 3 losing sessions out of my last 20 at .01/.02 NL. I play about 60% of the hands and wait for good flops. It works well for me, even though my tournament style is the opposite. I recently left a $10 buy-in with $50. I'm not saying it's always that easy, but picking the right table is half the challenge.I'm really glad to see Daniel doing this, too. I used to think that pro's won because the other pro's don't make donkey bets/calls, etc. I was naive. I restarted with about $22 this October. I'm over $500 now, and started following good bankroll management after I read about Chris Ferguson's $0 to $10,000 bankroll practices. Unlike Daniel and Chris, however, moving up in levels is a whole new challenge for me.Good luck Daniel! I hope to see you out there some time!

Any thought to get a new screen name and go incognido in order to have a more 'realistic' experience?Seems you are going to have to deal with things that 99% of the online world will not because of your name / rep / good looks

2/4 nl online is tougher then 10/20nl live.. like wayyy tougher.. id really watch alot of videos before you try those levels.. its hard to just jump into a game online and expect to crush it, escpecially with a limited buyin rule that you have. I give you a 0 percent chance on making this, but if you do.. I think it would improve your game a ton(which scares me).

I can't do that.
Let me tell you a true story that a friend of mine told me happened to him.He used to do all the balloons for Danny Devito's children's birthday partes as they were growing up, he also did all the balloons for Disney parks. One day Danny Devito asked my friend if he could get Mickie Mouse to make an appearance at his daughter's birthday party. My friend told him he doubted it, because Disney is very protective with the Mickie character etc., and alas, my friend was told there was no way Mickie was leaving the park.So my friend called Danny Devito and said: "Sorry Danny, I couldn't make it happen"."That's okay," Danny said, "I forgot...I'm Danny Devito, so I called and they are sending Mickie over tomorrow for the party"So I say to you...Don't forget: You're Daniel Negreanu...you can get a new screen name from Pokerstars with a phone call.

this would be a very nice promotion for pokerstars, they don't want him on another account, and I hope they're kicking him bonus duckets for attempting this run and to keep him interested.

Daniel is online and slowly grinding is stack up at a table. I'm one of the many observers wasting their time watching him. :icon_dance:PS: Good thing you turned your observer chat off DN... these peoples are sick!

I've decided to do this challenge, but always put 10% on the table, only play 6-max, and I'll move down in limits if forced to. I haven't decided whether or not to play NLHE or PLO. Don't worry, though, I'll be sure to not keep you all updated, since nobody cares. Just thought I'd mention I've been inspired to try it.
