Here's a hand I played in my last session, thoughts? Villain is new to the table, third hand. He bought in for full and lost that 55 cents where he called a min-raise pre with T7hh, and lost a bit with a SFD that didn't get there.Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (3 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comSB ($2.50)Hero (BB) ($10)Button ($9.45)Preflop: Hero is BB with Aspade.gif, Jspade.gifButton raises to $0.30, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.20Flop: ($0.65) Adiamond.gif, Aclub.gif, 3club.gif(2 players)Hero checks, Button bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40Turn: ($1.45) Kheart.gif(2 players)Hero checks, Button bets $0.90, Hero raises to $2.65, Button raises to $8.75 (All-In), Hero ???My initial thoughts were that he was cont. betting with JJ, QQ, KK on the flop, but given that we're playing 3-handed his range could include pretty much any ace.
First, I 3bet it pre oop. The only time I call a raise with AJ is if it's suited and I have position but I 3bet it in that situation a lot as well. As played, I definitely get it in. The only hands that beat you are AK, AQ, A3, KK, and 33 I think. His range would have to include any ace, any king, and any pocket pair plus stone cold bluffs raising on the button 3 handed I would think.

You answered your own question at the end there. That fold button, don't hit it.

so mark prob the only poster who will care about this post (you metrosexual you)...hahaketurah's (my wife) bro is getting married this weekend, so i had to get some decent clothes for the wedding...i'm ushering a few ppl or w/e..idk, i'm not big on wearing nice clothes...but whenever I buy something it's either at a thrift store or at some real pricey place. I don't quite get this revelation (like why i don't ever shop in the middle) but that's just me.anyways, walking around the mall today and we end up in saks fifth ave...in my mind i'm like...uh-oh here comes the big spending...we see my cousin there who's working and she shows us around a bit...i end up getting a $585 suit jacket from hugo boss...which im really stoked about and then some $155 shirt which was kinda lol but it was cool so w/e. I'm an idiot for spending that much money, but we ended up saving a lot since we went thru my cousin and ended up only spending $565. lol ship the free shirt.maybe i'll post a pic of it from the wedding or when i go out tomorrow, or i'll just pm mark and any other metrosexuals out there. i'm pretty sure there are a few.ooooooooo ya, loooool. i saw a few 'murses' there and i insta thought of mark...so, congratulations mark, you're the only straight guy that would pop into my head being interested in buying a murse.lolol- Jordan

Hey everyone long time no see. Been having a really shit month for non-poker reasons and haven't played much, but much better last couple of daysToday was the first time I had fun playing in a while even though I only broke even, and it was because of this guy. This was the last hand, with obv history otherwise I'm not trying to get my whole stack in 200bbs deep with just an overpair I think.Poker StarsNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.50/$12 playersConverterStack sizes:SB: $210.80Hero: $196.75Pre-flop: (2 players) Hero is BB with :4h:D SB calls, Hero raises to $4, SB calls.Flop: :D:club::5c ($8, 2 players)Hero bets $5, SB raises to $11, Hero raises to $40, SB calls.Turn: :ts ($88, 2 players)Hero bets $65, SB calls.River: :D ($218, 2 players)Hero is all-in $87.75, SB calls. Results:Final pot: $393.5Hero showed Qh QdHe had T8oGame selection is the name of the game, something I've really been struggling with lately. I think I've gotten to the stage that very few people at nl100 will have a significant edge on me, but there is a lot of people that I'm essentially breaking even with that I just can't quit and I give away buyins to rake and variance, and frustrate myself. Anyway may pop in later, gl everyone.

Yeah that's kinda what I felt, the bad news is that he flipped over KK, the good news is that I spiked the 1 outer on the river :club:

I should be at 30K for sure, as a $10K month is normal. I'm going to try and do a $25K month in April and we'll see how I do. I'll bump this thread every so often with a status, unless everyone thinks I'm getting annoying/bragging or something.Mark
Just get over yourself already. :club:

so, i won a 100 man live donkament tonight and first prize was a 52" samsung HDTV. it was free to play but invite only for retail real estate people. fortunately my wife knows the wife of the guy who runs it and i am somewhat involved in real estate, so i got an invite. there was a casino night, dinner and bar going on for the same event, so half the players were in some state of drunkenness. anyway... yay free tv!

I have a holdem manager question. I have poker tracker 3 and just got holdem manager. I'm at the database management part. Should I use the PT3 database as the default for holdem manager or should I create a new one? Should I just export hands (does that create a new database from my pt3 database?) How easy is it to maintain my pt3 database and holdem manager database? Will I have to do anything special to make sure hands get inputted into both programs? Thanks

create a new databse for HEM. you can export yur PT3 files under options for PT3. Keeping dual databases seems like a pain, but if you wanted to you would have PT look in the folder where you tell HEM to send the files after its done w/ them, the only problem being is it will import those zillion files every time methinks.

What exactly do I do when exporting to get holdem manager to have all the hands my poker tracker database has? Also, can I reverse this process later if I haven't been importing any hands in pokertracker to keep it up to date?Edit: Figured out how to get my hands from pt3 to holdem manager but haven't found out if I can do it the other way around in the future if I feel like updating my pt3 database. Any one know?

Depending on the villain, I probably call and check call a reasonable river bet. Disclaimer: It's been shown today that I pretty much suck post-flop. I think you get shown a set here pretty often though, but there's enough naked aces in his range that I still want to see a showdown if I can do it without going crazy.edit: and yes I'm cbetting the flop.

I think this hand identifies a pretty big leak. Why are you check raising the turn if you don't know if you're going to call a shove? He's very rarely going to flat call your raise, he's generally going to shove or fold. There are many cases where you can raise without a full picture of what to do next, but here you should be very clear on what your line is.

That's a pretty nasty spot. Villains stats? Readless......I think checking that dry of a flop is fine with a hand like this that you don't really want to build a pot with. Man, I can't imagine you aren't crushed here but you are getting such a good price. This is a standard fish slow play, min-raise spot with a monster. Even with the price, I think you need to fold. He is never doing this with less than 2 pair and pretty much the only 2 pair hand he could be holding has you crushed. I think it is a set a large percentage of the time and even getting incredible odds, you aren't getting the right price for your 2 outer (4 outer). I mean, I guess calling and re-evaluation the river is an option but I can't imagine you aren't gonna face a big river bet and a lot of times in those spots people talk themselves into calling again even though they know they are beat.
