Official Buffalo Sabres Thread

If that was me, it was because I was excited :club: It's not often the Bruins are ahead of Montreal in the standings!
I can't remember who it was. I'm sure the post was in a joking matter it just made me laugh.Outshot 33-17 and outscored 8-2 to the lowly LA Kings last night. Thibault has his worst start as a Sabre as it looked like he let in a few softies in the 1st period.I still won't pick against the Sabres in the survivor pool.

Don't know why giving someone the benefit of the doubt would be so hard.   Like, at any point in life. Maybe I'm a push over, but I'm more than happy to give most people the benefit of the doubt in

Ted Nolan's dream job? Coaching the Sabres without a GM.

Buffalo Sabres ‏@BuffaloSabres 1m Mikhail Grigorenko has informed the #Sabres that he will be reporting to the Quebec Remparts.

Very hard team to figure out, some nights they looked great and are unstoppable and then they get shellacked...HOwever as a fan I rather watch the Sabres anyday compared to those boring trapping Bruins..

Can't argue with that.It seems like every night on the Spin they complain about the terrible Boston Bruins games. "If you would like to go to sleep watch a period of the Bruins game."The problem is they are winning and are in position to make the playoffs this year. The coaches job is to win hockey games with the talent he has. This is what Julien gets paid to do. They are not there to impress the fans. What owners have to realize is that winning games doesn't always bring in the fans. You also have to put out an exciting product.

And we're back in business 4 in a row. Who's needs shoot out and OT losses to jump up the standings in the NHL. I like when you win the game in regulation. We are due for a big blowout loss in the next couple of games though.

I feel a little left out. Serge gives every other hockey team thread a nice little poem and nothing for my hot Sabres who passed the Leafs the other night and still have a couple of games in hand.

In the land of wings and super bowl agonyThere is a team called the Sabres who have a rich historyFrom the days of Perreault, Turgeon and MogilnyTo the current guys Maxim,Roy and ConnollyThe Sabres are fast and they can score in bunchesBut the defence is poor and responsible for throwing up the fans lunchesThe loss of Briere and Drury have hurt them quite a bitBut nothing is worse when the Leafs beat them till they have to just quita poem by a fan

Another tough loss last night.Played a good game against the best team in the conference despite missing Roy and Afinogenov due to injuries. I only got to watch the 1st half of the 1st period because I had to play hockey myself but from NHL.com it appeared to be a close game in terms of scoring chances and the shots were even. I think it's time for another 7 game winning streak. Hopefully it will start Saturday against the Devils who have won the last 2 we played against them in shootouts.

Surprise Surprise Sabres blow a 2 goal lead and lose to the Devils in another shootout. From the highlights it looked like the Sabres had plenty of chances to put them away but couldn't beat Brodeur.Looking forward to watching the game Wed vs the Rangers on my free week of the NHL Network.Spacek (back spasms) joins Roy (shoulder), Afinogenov (groin), Connolly (groin) and Numminen (heart, he's officially gone for the year) on the sidelines although Afinogenov did practice yesterday he is not expected back for tomorrow nights game.I still have faith that if this team gets healthy they can go on enough of a run to squeak into a playoff spot.

Bump to 1st page. I hate when my Sabres thread gets to the 2nd page.A big win over Dallas going into the All Star break. Roy has been fantastic since his return from the shoulder injury. Looking forward to the 2nd half.

A solid game offensively for Campbell in the All Star game last night. A Goal and 2 assists. I really hope the Sabres can get him signed back up at the end of the season. Usually when a guy calls negotiations quits half way through the season they are looking to be a UFA. I really hope this isn't the case.

Another big win for the Sabres last night. They are currently tied for 10th and only 4 pts out of 8th with at least 2 games in hand on everyone. They play again tonight against Florida.Bad news on teh injury front as it looks like Connolly has bone spurs in his hip.http://sabres.nhl.com/team/app/?service=pa...rticleid=351551Roy and Spacek are back in the line up so all we are missing now is Connoly and Afinogenov. I don't see any reason why this team won't return to the playoffs this year.

One of the best bets I made this year was against Adam...He bet me that the Sabres would be 10pts ahead of the 8th place team...I am pretty much a lock in this one...

You are definitely looking good. I like their chances of making the playoffs but not beating 8th place by 10 pts. They would have to get very hot for a very long time. You have to figure you make a good bet once in a while with some of your other bets. Ottawa VS Toronto PTs, Montreal vs Toronto GA etc...

Sabres win again 1-0 last night in Florida.Definitely not a typical 1-0 hockey game as the Sabres outshot the Panthers 41-33 with lots of chances at both ends of the rink. Vokoun and Miller both played very well.Still no sign of Afinogenov or Connolly yet.

Its so frikkin annoying..It seems like all my players get day to day groin injuries and end up missing 3 weeks...Afinogenov has really let me down this year..I was expecting a lot out of him this year, especially with the absence of Drury and Briere.

I really thought the Roy-Vanek-Afinogenov line would be great for the Sabres this year. Roy has been the only guy on that line who has contributed up to my expectations, especially since he has been back from his shoulder injury.

Sabres look to make it 4 in a row tonight. They head to Atlanta to meet a Kovalchukless Thrashers team. He is supposed to be out for a week according to the Scorre last night. At first glance you would think this would mean an easy victory for Buffalo but this is the team that can lose to LA 10-2 one night and then beat the sharks 7-1 the next night.Still no return of Connolly or Afinogenov. It looks like Connolly will be the first one back of the 2 in the next week or so.
