Soft Severed Deep Nuts With Action

Recommended Posts

Yes, I actually can. When the money is deep and we have the nuts and want to stack our opponent if he's got a hand, we need to make sure that we find a way to get all of the money into the pot. OOP, when we decide to trap, he may see a bad turn card or check behind a harmelss turn card with a strong but vulnerable holding for pot control. Then we arrive on the river with a pot that is too small to allow us to stack him unless we can bet/3bet or we try to c/r him again.
You realize that what you just wrote in the bolded part, is exactly what I have been saying will fold to a 4bet on the flop.

If he's gonna fold to a 4 bet on the flop, then when is he gonna put more money into the pot? If he's got AK or AQ, he still has cards to improve his hand. If he's gonna pay us any more money with that hand, it's probably on the flop and not on the turn or river.I know why you were saying to flat call, we all do, but I disagree with it. It's not like it's a complicated concept or anything.I don't like cwik's shove becuase I'm pretty sure he folds out AK/AQ by doing that. A minraise will not.

Alright, at this point I am still pretty sure this is a raise. I think I like a bet of $105 FWIW.Like Acid_Knight said, I shoved and villain mucked. In the chat after he said he mucked JJ and also said he didn't believe I had KQ. :club: . I am pretty sure one of those two things is a lie.

Yeah, absolutely. He's very nearly priced in with a set.

This reminds me, this very same situation happens on an episode of Cash Poker.KQ bet, David Williams raised, someone with a FD called, KQ shoved, William's INSTA mucked TT looking bemused. The guy with KQ wasn't even a total nit or anything.

It was literally one time. This is even the hand about it because I wrote to Tom McEvoy about it in cardplayer and he wrote an article about it. I don't think a single bet amount is correct in the article, but still.http://www.cardplayer.com/author/article/all/24/7050Here's the thread about it.I think it's literally the only time I've ever folded a set on the flop before.http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=97731
