I achieved a 18% ROI on $10-$50 SNGs over about 500 games, about 1.5yrs agoHaven't played them very seriously since but it seems the quality of competition is alot higher than it used be. From some responses, people think there still lots of fish. Is it a different network you play on? I think it's hard to achieve an ROI above 5% at decent buy in SNGs ($20+). Any comments?

In the turbos the variance is insanely high. You are forced to win several 60/40s or 50/50s or even 40/60s to win in general. By the bubble, the blinds are usually 100/200 at least, and you are often shoving Q8o UTG because you have 5xbb.I think that it's possible to get around 8% ROI in the turbos if you play very well. The problem with working it out is that it's easy to go 10 in a row without cashing, then get 1-1-3-2-1 in your next 5. You need such a huge sample that it's difficult to get anywhere realistic off a sample of less than 1k.In the normal speed games, I think 15% is still possible on the right sites at the right times, but generally 10% would be pretty much crushing them.

How many BI do you reckon should be in your BR to play them?

For turbos I think at least 30 if you don't want to move down at all, although I had a $200 downswing playing $11 turbos a while back, and I was playing good. For normal speed games I'd say about 20+.If you're willing to move up/down liberally then 15-20 will do, but you will find yourself shooting up and down limits very regularly.
