I also need to read my new poker books, Winning In Tough Hold'Em Games, which is supposed to be amazing for SH LHE
it is, and unfortunetly I only got through about 1/3 of the book before floods destroyed my basement and I unfortunetly had the book on the ground

I've never been a big fan of first-person shooter games. More of a sports/racing game fan.Btw, anyone have any insight onto what the best system is?It needs to be able to play NHL 08, so unfortunately, it looks like the Wii is a no go. :club:
FIFA08 is coming out soon, that has always been one of the best EA franchises

August was my best month of poker ever.My goal for September is to continue to beat the 25/50 and 50/100 limit holdem games at On Game for over $2 per hand and to continue to have On Game love me and hate my opponents. My goal for my play at other sites (mostly Poker Stars ) is $1 per hand as I'll play from 10/20 to 30/60 at sites other then On Game.I don't set any goals in terms of the amount that I'll play as I have some other commitments that take priority over playing.
god I wish I still could play on ongame and get the 40% rakeback i was gettingno, I'm not a fan of the current american administration and haven't voted that way since I was legal to vote (back in 98). I'm a bit drunk too right now BTW, so I won't be making any mod decisions at the moment :club:

August:I was out of the country a couple weeks this month, so I didn't set any real goals because I didn't know how much poker I would get in.Cash: $1,070.85 - I only got in about 6,000 hands in cash games. I played mostly 6man 2/4nl, some HU, and random scatterings of Stud8 and PlO8.Tourneys: $1,928.39 - I played about 30 sng's most 9man $109's, which I have been crushing. I fell like my MTT game is comeing along too, but I didn't really made a run in the dosen or so I plated. Rakeback: About $350Total: ~ $3,350 - not bad for a half months work where I ran pretty awful.September:Ok, gonna start stepping it up this month. Lets shoot for 20,000 hands and 100 sng's played. $7,500 in profit (5 digits would be perfectly acceptable). Also plan on repeating in the FCP HU tourney.

I have a lot going on...I really want to get off to a good start with school this quarter, as well as getting back into working out and eating healthy. I'd like to put on 5-10 pounds of muscle this month. I just moved into a new place and am really looking to change my lifestyle back to a more positive one. IE: 3 meals a day, fruit and veggies, lifting weights again, biking, running, amongst other things. - Jordan
This is actually eerily similar to me. I will be moving into a new place in the next couple weeks, and I really want to work on getting back into shape. I have seem to have lost some weight (skinny), and really want to start putting back on some mussel, eating right, start running, ect. Maybe we can work out some kinda motivational Shannon Shorr'esq wager.

August Goals were pretty much all met. Took down two $11 180 sngs. Placed like 20th in a 3R, but that only paid like $75. I was doing pretty well in a 27.50 but then stars crashed and the tourney was cancelled and I ended up getting like $338. LHE was ok, my computer got a whole bunch of spyware on it and had to reboot so my PT stats are screwed.September goals- Win a $22 180 SNG, FT a few other MTTs. Really work on SHLHE and get in 25,000 hands.Current bankroll 2500Bankroll goal 3500

Had no August goal, as had no roll at beginning of the month. Deposited $200 on tilt, started playing some plo. Currently playing $25plo, and have been "fairly" good at sticking to just that (had a little hiccup and jumped in to $100 the other night and picked up a buyin) but it's been ok to this point, and I'm at $350 currently.September goal -- 15-20k hands, 5bb/100 - $375-500 total profit, plus rakeback. Also have to get some sng's happening for a bet with simo8ball (or make enough to not care about paying him the $45...lol)

All right, I guess I'll do the trendy thing and put my August results in this thread. Here were my initial goals:

August Goals1. Make money in Vegas. I'm totally going down there, so I'm just going to try to have a profitable trip. I actually have two goals for the trip. One being to make a profit, and the other being to avoid gambling where I don't have an edge. Poker's good, sport's betting's good if football's started up, and blackjack's good if I actually pay attention to the frigging count. No craps, no European roulette, and no chasing BJ losses when the count's against me though. Oh, and if I play BJ, I'm finding a dime table somewhere too. One of my problem's at the Wynn was that there would be a $100 minimum everywhere after about 6 PM and I'd just sit anyway. One time, I even sat a $300 min table to play double deck.2. Run my $700 online up to $8000. Yeah, sounds pretty ambitious, but I've already done the hard part (turning a $35 stake into $700 free and clear in less than 24 hours). Now I've got 14 buy-ins at 0.25/0.50 and I just need to run decently to make it the rest of the month. I did have some bills that were running me into the ground that shouldn't be a problem any more, so I'm hoping the reduced pressure will allow me to manage my bankroll better. I was going to move up to 0.5/1 at $1000, but now I'm thinking that's kind of stupid. Maybe I'll wait until $1500, I think that brings my overall ROR for making it to $8000 down to about the 25%-30% range.
Well of the two official goals, I got both of them. Ended up ahead about $1,000 in Vegas if I dont count food, alchohol, strippers, etc. And yes, I ran my $700 up over $8000 too. Didn't manage to keep away from pit games in Vegas, but you can't win 'em all. In fact, with the $1,010 I cashed out, I actually finished up ahead $10,203 on Stars for August. That includes some other poker, but is mainly covered in my PLO graph:augfinalmi7.jpgGetting over 30K hands wasn't an official goal but it was nice to know that I was really putting some hands in and grinding away a little bit. Makes me feel a lot more like a 'real pro' then when I only get in 10K hands because I'm constantly going broke and can barely keep money online. Anyway, I'm cashing out back down to $8,000 to start September to cover some expenses since that will leave me on track for where I was planning to be anyway. September goals will be in the following post.

September Goals1. Get my Stars roll over 20K. That's only a couple thousand dollars more profit than I made last month and I'm starting with a bigger roll giving me a lot more cushion. However, I'm going to be using better BR management, and I can't really expect to run as well as I did at the beginning of the month again so it evens out. If I can grow my roll to 2.5x it's current size in the next 30 days, I think that's a very good accomplishment.2. Maintain 5.0 PTBB/100 at 1/2 and higher. Even though I was crushing the small games at the beginning of the month, my winrate was only 4.67 PTBB/100 in the bigger games and I want to make sure that goes up. I can certainly play well enough to get it there, the only thing holding me back last month was some tilt after I ran bad when first taking shots at 2/4.3. Don't buy into any cash game for more than 5% of my roll. This may be the trickiest one of all. Even though I was mostly grinding away at stakes I could afford last month, there were definitely some times where I started tilting and took shots at games I didn't belong in and seriously endangered my roll. If I could get through the whole month without doing that, it would be a huge step forward. I don't mind taking a shot at the $500 WCOOP event or something, but I shouldn't just randomly be buying into a 3/6 PLO game because I'm on tilt.

Since I have been traveling for about five weeks in July and August together, I will treat those two months as one.July/August results:

  • Get a positive ROI.

Check! I am slowly getting better at multi-tabling SNG's (where multi=3) and my Sharkscope is finally above zero. This is obviously the result I am most happy with.

  • Keep performing well in the $4 180-player SNGs on Stars, say with 2 or 3 final tables.

Check! Played 18 and made two final tables; came in 4th and 2nd.

  • I recently discovered the $3+R tournaments on Stars, and enjoy playing those a lot. Goal for July: to finish in the money in 25% of the ones I play.

Failed, cashed in 3/21. These are my biggest money leak at the moment, so I will play just a few for fun in September.

  • Finish in the money in one of the Sunday tournaments here at the Paris casino. These are 80-player 100 euro live tournaments with the top 9 places payed.

Failed, but I'm playing well in those and love the live experience, so as long as my off-line bankroll permits I will keep trying.

  • Start lurking around a bit less, and posting on this forum a bit more. Let's see if I can get my enormous number of 5 posts up to 15.

Check! See post count to the left. I will be celebrating my 100th post in September.September goals:

  • Have a positive ROI in $6.50 9-man turbo's on Stars
  • Same for $4 180-man SNGs
  • Donk off at most $150 in rebuys
  • Same limit for MTT's
  • Start playing pot limit Omaha
  • Contribute a bit more to the strat forums

You guys want to here about sweet game selection? Last night I played Paul Wasicka heads up at 10 20 NL for 3 hours. Let's just say that I would play him any day of the week now.

Absolute:----$398...(+6) :D Bodog:-------$581...(+115)PStars:-------$577...(+81)FullTilt:-------$21......(+2 $26 Sat Tokens) ....4 Tokes TotalTotals: (+$202) and 2 $26 Sat Tokens.Positive month at each site, so I can't complain. Hoping for a $400-$500 profit this month. I'd like to eventually build up a roll for 100NL, 2/4 lmt and 20SnG's, thus earning more RB. I'm kinda sorry I cashed out before my Vegas trip, but I refuse to deposit (even though I could) and will grind up the old fashioned way: wailing on donks at low stakes!! :club:
