Yeah, it sounds like you were just a little too underbankrolled, and you didn't really need to go on full-fledged tilt to drop your money. I'd recommend that you take enough time off that you can play 1/2 without being all pissy about it. Maybe that's just a few hours, or maybe it's a few days, but you really do need to move down. When I had my week-long meltdown, my problem wasn't that I was underbankrolled as much as I was emotionally unready to lose a large amount of money, and I let a 3K downswing at 3/6 turn into a 9K loss by the end of the week. I ran my BR from 13K down to 4K over that time, so I was pretty much in the same spot as you.Anyway, since then, I've been playing some 1/2 NL, a little bit of 2/4 NL, and one night of 10/20 limit live, and I'm up about $3000 again. I really think if you can just break up the routine a little and either play less or play something different for a while, it will help.I can also relate to the upcoming expenses too, as I have to license my car next week ($1200 I think) and I've been trying to help out my mom lately as she's been pretty broke too. Still though, even if you've got pressing expenses, I think reducing your schedule for a while's about the only way you can make sure that the hours you put in make money for you and not for someone else.

That's the thing...after my Vegas trip, I was a bit burned out. Had only played like 5 hours since I'd been back and won $500 in that time. Then I get into these stupid meltdown sessions. I've probably played 12 hours in the past 30 hours. My roll on Bodog is officially crap now...like...barely over $1.1k.The sick thing is that I was sitting on a $900 stack at a 2/4 table...and then busted on one 1/2 table...and I couldn't add chips. Going to be the biggest stack I'll see for quite some time. I'm so dumb...I'll have to go back to .50/1.

Ouch. It's really hard to play decently when you're on a losing streak like that. It seems like it's a whole lot easier to build 1K into 10K than it is to stop the free fall from 4K to zero when you've already lost over half your bankroll. The desire to "fix the problem" is so strong that you just can't pull yourself away long enough to get your head straight. This is the first time I've managed to stop one of these before I broke myself, and the only way I did it was keeping myself really busy for a while. (Took a couple two day trips, one to the lake right after, and a mandatory one later on which did include a little poker.)

Little hands means little profit for Jordan this month.I just been around all this month. I'd like to figure out my profit right now, but I may still be stuck a bit. I did just cash in Thursdays super in 38th place. Frustrating tourney. Never caught really nice cards, and at the end I'm a little upset with how I went out, but whatever...And I finally put in a winning session in a cash game. Oh, and I really am starting to hate Bodog and their customer service. They only have $600 and $100nl 6 max games. They won't add 6 max games to $400 or $200 for some reason...really pisses me off. I don't have issues playing $600nl, ok, maybe I do. I don't know why. I have the roll for it. I'm just loving $400nl right now and want FReAKING 6 MAX $400NL ON BOdOG SO I CAN CASH OUT FROM THAT STUPID SITE (i have to clear a bonus). So yea. We'll see what happens. I'm gonna tear August a new one though. And I call dibs on the new thread.- Jordan

Either I'm experiencing the upside of variance, or these 1/2 NL games on Party are really, really soft. I've only played 1,800 hands and I'm already up 15 buy-ins. My hourly rate 2-tabling them ($303/hr) is over twice what I was making 2-tabling the 2/4 games. I was planning on just making a quick detour before moving back up, but if I keep earning this fast, I might stick around for a while.

send them an email...i sent them one yesterday on putting more 6max tables in....I know i hate havin to jump to 600nl to get 6max tables. Id rather be able to play 100-400nl at 6max though the 600nl is full of donkesy from lower limits who jump up

July wrap up:Goal was 25k hands, and $6,000.I played 24k hands, and won roughly $5,000.Winrate was almost exactly as expected at 1.95BB/100 over mixed stakes, but unfortunately i played lower stakes than i forecasted for. I have almost twice as many 2/4 hands as 3/6, and quite a bit of 1/2 (only a bit of 5/10).On a positive note i just got Elite status at absolute, which means i get a free $200+16 tournament every month (and earn points faster). I havent played non-free roll tournaments in long time, so it'll be a treat.

boo, i just got platinum the other day. i thought my VIP status points would go 1.5 times as fast too, but i still need 18000 more raked hands to be VIP.crazy day yesterday - over 2500 hands on absolute, and a total profit of $2.97

My "profit" on the month: -$575loooooooooooooooool.Obviously, basically break even. I think I actually have $53 other dollars from this site that I'm not accounting for, but when I added up all my money I have currently online, I was $163 shorter...so yea.It was a crazy month (panama in 2 weeks took away from a lot of my play, but whatever, that was worht it), when I played. I'll have an August thread up at 12...hope the majority of you met your goals.- JordanEDIT -- I just realized its the 30th, and still have the 31st to play. Man...I may be changing this again then.EDIT*2 -- lool, back in the black again..loool. one more day to go, maybe i can turn something...EDIT*3 -- getting KK cracked by 53o for a $764 pot, gets me stuck on the month. Story of my month. little hands, bad run...small loss. sigh.

I'm not going to meet either of my real goals. I was up $9,000 at one point, went all the way back down to break even, and while I haven't figured out my final numbers yet (obviously, the month isn't quite over), I think I finished the month up about $4,000. My break even live goal looked very attainable (I was down about $20), until I went out and dropped $1,100 last night. Anyway, I certainly did meet the goal of becoming proficient at NL cash games again, and that should make sustaining profit in August a lot easier. I've found that keeping myself with 20+ buy-ins (that means playing 1/2 right now), makes it a lot easier to avoid tilting. I'm making maybe a third as many mistakes lately as I was playing higher limits.

ran at 0.7BB/100 for 6,700 hands of short handed limit for about $600 in winnings. not what i was shooting for, but it's more fun than breaking even. somehow i'm up about $1,400 overall. guess rakeback and bonuses added up.

I was up very small on the month...coming into the 31st, but then proceeded to get KK cracked by 53o (open pushed into me for $380 pf) after he turned a gutshot straight. Overall stuck -$575. Which is nothing. It actually kinda makes me laugh. Not playing for like 2 weeks was rough, but it didn't help that I ran incredibly lame this month.Oh well. Onto August.- Jordan

well my month went down in flamesLets just say me and Mel Gibson got a lot in common.Last Saturday i went up to my apartment and ate some sushi with the roommate. Well apparently that doesnt much to fill u up and we had a few drinks and basically i shouldnt have been playin. So the good majority of the br is gone (thought playin the 1k game would be fun)So back to the rebuilding for me. I am gonna start keepin the minimum necessary on the sites and keepin the rest out of immediate reach.
