Very Disappointed That I Bought Stacked /w Daniel Negreanu

Wow, Got the response from Meylin Media today. I sent the same email and got the same response. Here it is:Hello,The player must make the best 5 card hand, but must include at least 1 of thecards from his hole cards, or 2. As the board is identical for all players, they then need to look to see the best hands that they can make using theirwhole cards. The pocket 3s is clearly the better hand to combine with theboard, so the result is correct. Your customer number is 1448050Please refer to case #:: 2236962 if you have any further questions. Please include all previous replies when/if respondingto this message.Best Regards,Dan W. at Myelin Media Technical Supportsupport@myelinmedia.com-----------------------In Staccked for the X-Box there seems to be an error for splitpots. In one hand, the board had AAJJJ and the players had K2 and 33, theentire pot was awarded to the player with 33 instead of being splitbetween the players. Is there a way to fix this issue?I couldn't believe this was true when I read it. Daniel, why do you have your name on a game that makes up rules like this? This is the worst thing I've ever seen. I really want to know what your thoughts are on this. Did you know about these 'other' rules when you signed on? Let us know....Because if you didn't know about it, then that really sucks that you are stuck with your name on a poker game that doesn't even play by the rules.

Hey,Shufly,I just wanted to make sure you know that both the X-Box and Ps2 versions CAN save career tournaments in progress.Just ignore the incorrect screen that says you'll lose your progress(just choose yes) and then the very next screens will be the various save screens. To save career cash games you have to exit out to the player management menu and choose save player. You only can't save in Quick play mode(it uses rebuys and add-ons instead). Also, has anyone noticed the awful slowdown in the PS2 version(especially in 90 player tourneys)?Sometimes,it even won't let me bet for a full 2 seconds as it's frozen in time almost. :club: 95% of the slowdown goes away once I get to the final table, though.

This is actually a pretty big deal. Not that a video game doesn't do it exactly right..but that it was promoted, endorsed, and marketed as such. Poker video games are definitely -EV.

Yea, and that's a great excuse for a poker game not splitting pots correctly...
You are absolutely right. I was just being a smart ***. I was trying to make a point about why anyone on earth would buy a poker game when you can play real poker online anytime day or night? I just don't get it. If you want a realistic poker game, go to: fullcontactpoker.com, pokerstars.com, fulltiltpoker.com, ultimatebet.com, partypoker.com, etc. These are all free downloads and you can play for free as well if you desire.

Coding and stress testing are a ***** to do. there are so many things that can go wrong, you don't even know. First, people need to document their issues and continue to e-mail support. Support will, hopefully, get their coders on the job and write up a patch, put the patch on GameSpot or whatever and, presto, fix city. While I don't disagree with people;s complaints about buginess, I think it's pretty passive to sit around whining and blaming. Is DN a sofware coder? No. Does he know much about compiling data for a game like this? Probably not. How much time did he spend stress testing? Hell, I don't know. Perhaps not enough but, ultimately, it's not his job to make this game perfect.

No, but it IS his job to STFU about it and stop acting like it's the best poker game in the world. I mean, he told people that they would be well on their way to winning a bracelet with this game.. and now, after the game comes out, he's complaining about the sanctity of bracelets?Seriously. He was a marketing whore for this game. Us giving him his lumps is deserved. Maybe he'll learn from this.

I'm shocked that Daniel would put his name on a game like this, and do the amount of endorsing that he did. It's clear that he never actually played the game very much, or the split pot issue would have been noticed long ago.He may have been mislead by a company representative about the quality of the game, etc.... But still, before he went on MTV and told millions of people to go out and buy the game, you would think he would have at least made sure his claims were correct. If the A.I. is as bad as it sounds like it is, then this game is pretty much an all around joke. I'm glad I had no intention of ever buying it.

He didn't just go on MTV. He went on High Stakes Poker and had a stacked tournament. He went on various other shows. Before he got in with FCP and when he was with Poker Mountain, he was taking this game around with an MTV crew. The fact is, it wasn't just a company representative.. you can see Daniel playing this game all over the place. Let's not pretend like this is something Daniel JUST picked up and started talking about. He's been in bed with these guys from the start.Look, all that Daniel craps is not gold. He talked this game up, and got a lot of people to talk it up for / with him. Now it sucks. Stop defending his talking it up.. he was involved with a massive , multimillion dollar disaster. At the end of this thing, there will be contracts voided/violated.. lawsuits.. and the whole nine yards as everyone tries to save face, from Myelin to Daniel to MTV.Fact is, if Daniel learned anything, it's not to brag about how cool your product is a year and a half before you sell it.

While I applaud DN and all the other poker pros who are trying to put out poker video games, the simple fact is that any AI developed cannot possibly hope to compete with human poker players, and we already have any number of ways to play online from play money to the upper limits. We dont need more of the same ways to play poker. Any video game will suck, because the real deal is already out there. Download your favorite pokerroom, play against real people, learn and enjoy.

Nope, but as he said "People who get this game are better players than those that don't. This is REAL hold'em, and will train you to beat people at the cash table and in tournaments."So, anyone saying it's just a game.. Tell Daniel that. He doesn't seem to believe you.

I've never played the game, nor would I ever purchase a poker video game. That being said, everyone flaming the people who have purchased this game because "you can already play like for free, online OMGZ!!!" are looking pretty dumb. Daniel marketed a product to *gasp* his fans and other poker players (read: us). And apparently it has many glitches, so that sucks. They have a very legitimate gripe and should be answered to, a poker game marketed by Daniel in which he has said many times would be by far the best game on the market does not even know the correct rules of Texas Hold Em. Horrible.Sorry for the people that purchased it and hope you don't get flamed too much more.

Thanks, Tskillz.I want to believe that someone of Daniel's caliber would have noticed that the game required a card to come from the hole..I don't want to believe that every shot of him playing the game everywhere was fabricated or marketing chutzpah. I'm just confused why the animosity and anger that people seem to have. The game sucks. Get over it. It wasn't sold to us as "OMG Play on the Internet for freez!" It was sold to us as "This will help you beat the people on the internet you play for COST." It was sold as "real hold'em" and as a Trainer. The marketing speak for this product looked less like a game and more like an improvement tool. Poker Academy was mentioned about six hundred thousand times in phrases like "Using the Poki bot from the famed Poker Academy, Stacked will make your game better." It was in Cardplayer. Bluff. 2+2. It was on WPT, High Stakes, and mentioned multiple times on ESPN and MTV. Even Cardplayer talked about it like it was the "turning point" of computerized poker. Erick Lindgren.. Evelyn Ng.. and others who are featured all parroted how this game will create competitors and raise the qualilty of play for the future poker generations. I admit, I did not buy into the hype. I bought the game because I wanted to see whether or not they should have canned it after a year and a half of being late. But, the fact that the hype continued during that year and a half.. and that Daniel was responsible for a lot of that hype.. is greatly disturbing. If someone sold you food that gave you food poisoning, and still claimed it was the best kind of that food ever made, wouldn't you be a little wary before you listen to them in the future? Why should I buy ANY of Daniel's products if they go through QA like Stacked has?

I can't wait for Daniel to come in this thread and make me feel better by saying something like...."stacked works fine, that guy at support is a dumbass and doesn't know what he is talking about....we just fired him" and then all will be well with the world...Please daniel come save me!

Clearly the problem is bigger than that.

I know, but the fact that he isn't responding to any of this is scaring me....
If you put all your energy into a game like this and it was immediately dubbed a huge disaster, would you resond either ?

I'm thinking he has to have a good defense for himself because I don't think he's the type to endorse something like this. Maybe he was lied to etc, I just want to hear from him. Don't you?

Doesn't really matter to me if he talks about it or not. The game still sucks. Period.

The nerve... too busy playing for bracelets, launching protests with the gaming board and now apparently playing 500/1000 limit online to defend his game or give a reply to make everyone feel better when called out... Good thing I have a sense of perspective on life that others lack or I'd be rabid too.PS: Daniel, stop writing your response to this thread immediately - you're getting timed out vs NotSoFunNow.

THe only game I could imagine that it would be possible to build a computer and play very well would be HU limit hold em. Ironically, that is the game that I think requires some of the most skill. however, a computer could be truely random and eliminate my reading ability...
